Good News All round!

Been a bit quiet here the past few days but my days suddenly filled up with ’stuff’ and even some of my nights too which is unusual for me! But finally we have some good news happening so here I am excited to share!

We went out without the girls last night for only the second time since they were born! Yipeeeeeeeee!!! My Mum came up to stay so we could go to the movies… we saw the latest Harry Potter and it was great! I was a bit bummed about the ending as it really left you hanging waiting for the next episode and I needed more closure than that! I can’t wait that long for the next part to come out… might just have to read the book and ruin the movie! But just getting out after all the stress of late was lovely… we ate chocolate (something we rarely do at home as the girls are not allowed it!) and held hands and really the movie could have been rubbish and we still would have enjoyed it!

And speaking of stress… thanks to everyone who has messaged in support of my father-in-law. We went into the hospital on Wednesday for a family conference with the doctors - expecting to start discussions about turning the machines off and letting him go. But to all our surprise (the doctors as well) they had done an echo and some other tests during the morning and gotten much better results than anyone had every expected. His new heart was showing signs of recovery and the rejection showing signs of being under control so they had started to wean him off the ech-mo machine - the heart bypass machine that was keeping him alive while allowing his new heart to rest and recover,

So that was great news… though there were still some ifs and buts when we left Wednesday night and they were still treating the rejection really aggressively so I didn’t dare to hope that things might really improve. But now two days later signs are all good… they have taken him into surgery this morning to take him off bypass completely and put in a balloon pump which is internal (so less risk of infection which is a major issue while on the anti-rejection drugs) and allows his heart to do more work. We haven’t heard yet how that all went but so far it is all good news.

I dare not say it out loud but perhaps he may even be awake soon…… gosh could we be so lucky to have him awake and with us for Christmas??? I don’t dare to even wonder about that!

But still good news all round for a change…..
