It’s time to play….

Name that Chicken!

Yes folks it’s time to play the family’s favorite game show, Name that Chicken.

It’s easy to play, so get everyone and anyone to join in! All you have to do is check out the photos of the chickens below and come up with names for them.

These are the little chickens…. There are four hens and the white one is a rooster (we hope). They are all around the same age and all very friendly. They crowd around you when you go in the pen and happily sit on the girls’ laps for a cuddle.

This is the scaredy chicken… she’s an ex-battery hen which is why she has a few feathers missing here and there (though she is looking better and better every day). She was majorly henpecked by the other big chook but still managed to lay and egg the day she arrived and every second day since.

And this is ‘Narky chicken’ she has a temporary name as she was extremely narky when she first arrived. Now that she has planted herself firmly at the top of the pecking order though she is much nicer and even cuddles up to the little ones on cooler nights… though she still isn’t crazy about the other big chook, too much competition I guess.

Ok so now you have ‘met’ all the chooks all you need to do is leave comment on this blog post with your name suggestions sometime before next Sunday January 29th. Then, the girls, Si and I will use your suggestions to choose names for the chickens. If we use one (or more) of your names you’ll get this totally silly ‘cheeky chicken’ mini kit as your prize!

This kit contains one bright orange dotty paper and one completely chook mad patterned paper, as well as a stitched ribbon and a button which matching chook design! Very fun and very silly!

So start thinking and I’ll post the chosen names along with the winners sometime in the first week of Feb!

OK we will play!
The rooster can be named Foghorn.
One of the girls could be named Betsy (I don’t really know why!)
Kel says Chucky (!?!)
And for the other two… hmmm Chicky Babe and Chicky Dee.

Oh dear, I hope you get some more suggestions! LOL

I vote for “Little” – two reasons, one it is timely with the Chicken Little movie, and cause it is Audrey’s nickname :)

I see 5 chookens, but you’re gonna get more, right? ;o)

Reason I ask, I thought Do, Re, Mi, Fa, So, La, Ti.

I thought if you ever need to gather ‘em up, you could just sing! You could even make up your own version of the song: ‘Do, a chicken, a female chicken, Re a drop of fluffy feathers, Ti a name I call my chook, Fa a long, long way to peck. So, a rooster cock-a-doodle-dooing, La please lay me an egg today, Ti where have you gone and got to, and that will bring us back to Do, Do, Do, Do…

I’m crazy, I know :o)

haha – okay don’t shot me – but how about Whiskers??

My Dad always had this joke that I should name one of my budgies Whiskers…[ie. Cat food]. I already had names picked out at the time [old fart, Holly and Smeghead ROFL] so none of them go the whiskers tag – if I ever do get another bird I might just go that way hehe.

Going in that vain – you could call another one KFC ….
