Been a pretty good day today… well ok a good afternoon. After a horrendous night and weird morning the play groupers always manage to make things all better and today was no different. I don’t know, something about sitting around with a bunch of friends (new and old) while my girls play with their friends (or atleast idolise them!) just makes crappy things seem better.
So apart from those few hours caught in the play group glow time just vanished today. Izzy has been up infomercialling again so little sleep was had over night. We got up around 7:30 just after Si got home. I changed some bums and got the girls some cereal, put the computer on to defrag and ate a free hot cross bun (yum!). Then I decided I’d crash for a while in Izzy’s bed and put ABC kids on for the girls… that was around 8:30.
Now my girls are pretty good at getting up, eating breakfast and pottering around while I lie in bed and try and convince myself I am a morning person for about 45 minutes. I usually get a few visits during this time, some of them requiring I actually get out of bed to change a bum or rule over a cereal argument so eventually I decide I am more up than I am down so I get out of bed for good. But today… I lay down in Izzy’s bed (so Si could sleep relatively uninterrupted after his night shift) and I was so buggered I actually fell asleep. I vaguely remember one request for a dummy and one little person joining me for a quick cuddle but when I really woke up and got up it was 11am!
Where the heck did those two hours go? And what did my children do during that time???
The house seemed normal and so did the girls. Our living room had been destroyed and there were various patches of concrete like corn flakes and sticky pools of milk on the floor – but it is like that every morning. No one seemed alarmed that I had managed to steal 2 hours sleep, except me. I am still not sure if this was a good thing or a bad thing, but I certainly needed that sleep!
So anyway that was our day in a nutshell… and tonight.. tonight I have finalised a few new goodies to go into the store at DSH sometime this week! Things I have been trying to get done for ages so I am pretty pleased they are finally finished. I will post previews here in a day or so when I know they have made it to the server ok… I am still wary of my ftp issues!
So now onto finishing the very exciting first edition of the DSH newsletter… due out very soon! Soooooo many surprises in this and I can’t tell you how much fun it has been putting it all together! But as usual…. no time no time!
So off to bed with me a bit before midnight tonight – yes Laura I was up waaaay too late last night and then I paid for it big time when Izzy woke on an hour after I went to bed!
