OK it’s been bugging me for a while so I need to ask…
Why do people do ‘Christmas in July’? Why July?
I mean I get that people like the idea of a cold/winter Christmas even if I don’t, but shouldn’t it be in June? June 25th would be ‘half Christmas’ and much closer to winter solstice and Yule in the southern hemisphere… so why is it in July??
Hey just realised my boy was born on ‘half Christmas’ LOL

LOL. Very true. It should be on the solstice. I dunno..maybe July’s colder or something?
PMSL that you only JUST realised this!!! I claimed it as my “plan” for making sure Luey didn’t have any unnecessary long waits between pressies, hahaha!!!
Now, hey, was just popping in to say, if you DO happen to name Muski before I get back online on Tuesday morning, PLEASE SMS me!!! I don’t want to come home and find I’ve missed the exciting announcement – oh and Leah has my number, if you don’t…
Well…I dunno either! We do our annual friend’s Christmas in June, July or August, whenever we can all agree on a date! LOL
And the reason we do it is because the real Christmas is just too busy! But really, it’s just an excuse to have a child-free dinner once a year! ;-)
July is colder. If you live in the sunny states June is generally not cold at all. So there you go LOL!!
Can’t say I’ve ever really thought about it so much LOL… But it’s definitely colder here in June than July so must the opposite to Qld then… interesting…
We just organized a Christmas in August – just an excuse to go out and leave the kids at home with the Dads really.
Ha Ha Ha….okay…yeah…I agree with you!
