I dunno.. maybe I am juvenile but the term ‘Food Porn’ just makes me giggle. It conjures up images of an over the top, slightly tacky, couple sitting at a dinner table loudly ‘mmmm-ing’ and ‘aaah-ing’ and oooooooooh-ing’ over every mouthful like some B grade movie. Still, I’ve been tagged for this Food Porn (*giggle*snort* - sorry I will compose myself in a second) Meme by the the gorgeous Planning Queen and since I was going to blog about food today anyway, here I go!

Food Porn Meme
This started at Smokey Mountain Breakdown and the rules are as follows. Answer each of the five questions. Tag five bloggers you would like to pass the meme to. Have them link back to you and to this post as the source meme.

1. What food do you consider the best “date” food? In other words, what meal or food item do you think is sexiest to eat in the company of someone you would like to look sexy around?
Hmm.. now this question assume that I have ever been on a date or ever wanted to look sexy while eating! Really though - anything I didn’t have to cook is bound to excite me. I am sure I would appear a lot sexier to the Baldy Boy if I didn’t have raw hamburger encrusted on my left boob. Eating out, anywhere, even fast food, sounds like bliss to me!

2. What well-known person would you like to share a meal with—with or without clothing. (saying whether or not clothes are involved is optional).
Hmm.. well I am not really into lusting after celebrities. I wouldn’t mind eating out somewhere while my favourite band plays - Barenaked Ladies - though in reality it would be much better to ear first and then go to their concert. (as an aside - when I went to link up to the BNL site I just had to do a little happy dance as I discovered they are putting out a kid’s CD!! Oh wow how cool is that! Andrew - we HAVE to have that for our children!!!!)

3. What does your perfect breakfast-in-bed look like? (Food AND the details, please. Candles? Music? Flowers? Hot tub? Dancing girls?

I’m with The Roaming Aussie Mum (at her new food blog) on this one.. it would have to be ‘lunch in bed’.. or possibly even dinner?? I wouldn’t mind pancakes… or maybe croissants? Some home made berry jam? Actually some Vegemite toast done just the way I like it and a big glass of cranberry and raspberry juice would be just as nice!

4. What do you consider the best application of whipped cream to be?
Hmm now I can think of a lot of things you could do with whipped cream. It would be loads of fun in a food fight! It’s pretty delicious as part of chocolate ripple cake too.

5. Oh-God-No, Biff, the yacht is sinking! You are sent to the galley to retrieve the food. What luxury food items do you snatch first? The champagne? The caviar? Smoked Salmon? Truffles? Chocolate? Or something else?
None of the above. I don’t drink (despite fleeting moments lusting after tequila it has yet to actually happen) so the champagne is out. Cavier.. well I like Tarama dip a lot and that is made with fish eggs? Smoked Salmon? Bluck! Truffles? Spew! (I know I am so refined). I don’t even really like chocolate unless it happens to be wrapped around cheap turkish delight.

Hmm well it seems that I am not really into ‘Food Porn’ being such an unrefined heathen. I reckon the following bloggers might be up for some food porn though -
I think Leah at Azure of Suburbia is definitely up for some food porn!
I wonder if Jodie at Organised Chaos is also into it? Veronica at Sleepless nights will definitely be into porn if her recent posts are anything to go by! (and I mean that in the nicest possible way!). I am thinking the other Kate at Kate’s Ramble (cause she always links me up with these things) and also HipBubbyMama. Go forth meme!

    I was cruising through this post, nodding here, smiling there… Then I got to “I don’t even really like chocolate…” and I think my heart stopped for a second.
    I know I know, each to their own. But not liking chocolate.. That’s just.. I mean.. It’s Chocolate!! lol
    I’m with you on the cranberry and raspberry juice for brekky though. Yum.

    And while I agree with Alison - how can you not like chocolate!! - I am obsessed with Fry’s turkish delight. God, I wish you could buy it here. Actually, its probably best you can’t…

    It makes me giggle too … with pleasure - yes till I got to the chocolate bit - how can you - cheap turkish delight *gasp*(Cadbury’s is nice though)

    Oh it’s OK Kate- I don’t LOVE chocolate either. I only like it as an ingredient really. I do love turkish delight (cheap or ’spensive)and would always choose a fruit based dessert over a chocky one.

    Answered with your usual witty sense of humour - I love it. I also love chocolate, but am in to day 4 of my chocolate free life and I can see that it is possible to live without it!

    lol, don’t worry I was sniggering thought that post too ;).. don’t believe you dont’ really like chocie though, I mean EVERYONE does don’t they?
    Oh and thanks for the BNL heads up! LOVE their stuff, and will be keeping an eye out for the kids cd, loved what they did with chickenlittle.. wonder if it will be on itunes……

    I just need to clarify for a second… it’s not that I don’t like chocolate, or champagne for that matter… it’s just that I don’t LOVE it… I’d choose a million other sweet treats over chocolate and a banana milkshake well before champagne. But you know, if that was all that was on offer I’d gladly drink and eat up!

    Does that make all you choc-a-holics feel a bit better??? LOL
