Boy or Girl?

December 30, 2009

We are not finding out the sex of this baby.

The Baldy Boy desperately wants to know, but I’m the one doing the puking and peeing and lugging around of the beast so I get final say. We are not finding out.

We didn’t find out with any of the others either. Despite the fact that I always want other people to find out the sex of their babies, I am firmly in the ‘wait and see’ camp for myself for a hundred reasons which make sense only to my warped and pregnant mind.

I’m really not that phased either way, boy or girl, doesn’t really make much difference. The girls, on the other hand, have a very strong preference. In the straight forward and attitude filled words of two six year old girls…

Zoe – “We want a sister.”

Izzy – “Yeah. We asked for a boy last time and he hasn’t turned out to be as good as we thought”.

When i was pregnant with William my kids had firm beliefs on what the sex of the baby should be.

Immy wanted a girl,

Maddy wanted a boy.

Lily wanted a puppy.

Hahaha! I love kids, they come out with the best stuff.

My two girls so decidedly wanted another girl when I was pregnant with my baby. The eldest said, “We’ll try to love a boy, Mama, but…” How thrilled they were to discover they didn’t have to tax their emotions too far with the arrival of the desired SISTER ;-)

Oh gosh a little sister for the girls…how sweet would that be? Poor girl would probably have her outfit changed several times each day (although you get that anyways).

Then again a baby bro for Muski. *sigh*

Either is obviously going to be just right and wonderful!

I am firmly in your camp – when people were inquisitive with the “do you know what you are having” the answer was always “Yes. A baby. Not a puppy or a kitten.” ‘Salina wanted a foal, but she is besitted with what we got.

By the way – congratulations!!

Even though I had a good hunch mine was a boy I never found out for sure. People always want to know though, that, and the name.

Remends me of when I was asking my daughter Zoe 2 at the time, Do you want a brother or a sister, She though long and hard and said mmmm a baby! She is happy with her brother.
