Lucky To Be Home

Post image for Lucky To Be Home

Sometimes I find myself catching my breath….

When I come over that last hill before the turn off to home and I look up at the mountain and the white fluffy clouds in the sky…

When I wake up and hear magpies gurlging and Hamlet the rooster crowing…

When I walk down the long dusty drive way to collect the mail…

When I sit picking strawberries and watching the summer storm roll in…

Mostly life flies by me in a blur of school lunches, mismatched socks and getting kids in and out of the car.

But sometimes,
these times,
I stop.

For a split second I think I am on holidays, then I remember…. we live here.

HERE.

With a view of the mountain, under the cloudy sky, with magpies and chickens, strawberry patches and long dusty drive ways.

This is our reality, and we are so very lucky.
