Have you heard of pinterest? If you follow me on twitter you will have heard me tweet about how much I adore pinterest, and about how addictive it is and how much of a time suck it can be! I’d happily spend the rest of my days ignoring the world and just pinning lovely things from the interwebs.
Pinterest, for those who have not yet tasted the poison apple, is kind of like having a giant virtual pin board. A pin board where you can save or ‘pin’ anything you find on the internet, and if you use the iphone app you can also pin photos! And what’s even better, you can share your virtual pin board with everyone else and you can check out what everyone else has been pinning and pin it on your own baord if it takes your fancy. You can add a little note, or even leave a comment for a friend, and pinterest automatically links your pin back to the web site you saved it from… genius!
As you can see from my pins above, I’ve been drooling over spring gardens in the middle of our freezing miserable weather and pinning lots of gardening inspiration, as well as a few crafty ideas, some recipes, some party ideas and… Oh who am I kidding? I pin a lot of things… all the time. I am well and truly addicted.
You can follow people on pinterest in much the same way as you do on twitter. You can find my pins here – @KateFairlie. Some other pinners that I enjoy following are Crafty Mummy, Amanda Brandum, and Royanna Hohl Fritschmann.
You need to be ‘invited’ to join Pinterest, so if you would like to loose hours and hours of your time while pinning images of things you would love to do, but never will, because you spend all your time on pinterest and don’t have time for anything else…. if that sounds like heaven to you, let me know and I’ll hook you up with the drug that is Pinterest.

Ummm yeah… no thanks…. School principal asked me to redo the school website today and I may have volunteered to help coordinate parent club.. which it turns out is code for school fundraising coordinator, so I may be just a little busy what with the other two projects I’ve got on the go already and now those two as well….
Have just joined up…still working it all out but can see how it becomes addictive!

that looks like a terrific way of keeping track of all the craft and recipe ideas I see, bookmark the blog, but then can’t find the actual thing I was looking at again when I wish to make it…is that the idea? If so please can you invite me too
Even Miss 4 loves Pinterest now and we sit there looking at things that are cute or that we’d like to do together. Some of my pins are a bit hard to explain though, particularly the “words” section

Me me me….hook me up! I’ve been using tumblr to store my ideas but I took one look at Pinterest and knew that that was the place I wanted to be – seems so much easier to organise into categories, something I could never seem to work out how to do on tumblr.

As a visual person I love Pinterest, but luckily, I’m not addicted… yet! I love using it as a filing cabinet for things I might need in future for blog posts.
I am fairly new to pinterest but once I do log on and start I can`t seem to stop- just need to find more time to DEVOTE to it. Haha- although should probably devote time to other areas of my life instead.
Since we are designing/building a house this year I am definitely finding it good for that- you probably are too with your remodel. I need to “reorganize” my boards though into better titles/categories.
Never heard of it till this arvo now i need to go have a bloody looksee cos the little squiz i did see i so LOVE it as well ! hehehe

I love it too, and especially the iPhone app! But I haven’t been able to figure out how to relabel/title the pins when you repin with the iPhone app. Anyone know how to do that? My pins always end up with other people’s titles/labels that don’t even make sense for me.
Just tap the top red bar when you go to re-pin a pin then it will open up a section where you can edit the description. Took me ages to figure that out too! :)
