I am back making school lunches and next week my big boy will need lunch for kinder (preschool) too, thankfully only once a week, but all of them want to know when I will start leaving notes in their lunch boxes! So I think it’s time for some new lunch box notes. I am not [...]
Mooo Review!
A while ago I was contacted by mooo.com.au and asked if I’d like to receive some free samples of their products. It’s not the first time I’ve been offered samples, or freebies, or items in return for blogging about a product or company, but it is the first time I’ve said yes.
You see I’m pretty picky when it comes to these kinds of things.
I don’t want my blog to be filled with advertising posts. I already have blogher ads on my side bar which helps pay for hosting costs (and also means review posts can not be posted on my main blog along side these ads). I’ll happily pop up a little ad to support friends or other WAHMs that I know and love (like ecotoys.com.au) but filling the content part of my blog with review or commercial posts is not really my cup of tea.
I’m also picky when it comes to exactly what companies and products that I’d be happy to support. I’m not interested in samples of things I would never normally use or buy. I politely declined a fibre supplement sample for review – not that I am against posting about poop on my blog, just that I’ve never used anything like that, nor do I expect to need it any time soon.
But then the email from mooo found it’s way into my in box. For the first time I had cause to stop and think. I already knew mooo’s website. I’d already drooled over a few of their items. And they have chalk board wall stickers… chalk board stickers!?!? Ace!
I was still a little unsure. I’m not going to blog a fabulous review of a product or company if it really wasn’t that fabulous, but I’d also feel bad saying not so fabulous things about a product or company. I know… kind of chicken… but that’s the kind of girl I am!
But I found some brave, and said yes to mooo…. and so here it is, my first review post!
The first thing I noticed when I checked out mooo.com.au is their lovely crips clean site design. I’m such a sucker for lots of white space, punctuated with bright colours and lovely photos. We were equally delighted when we opened up our big box of samples.
My girls were immediately drawn to the bundle of printed birthday invitations. So many great designs and bright colours. What I liked was that the designs were fun and playful without being too cutesey or babyish. They’d be perfect for so many different invitations, and there is sooooo many options to choose from.
My girls also liked the back pack and the wall canvas and Muski fell in love with a personalised T-shirt with a red motor bike on it! The t-shirt has washed and worn really really well and is currently in high rotation.
Mooo was also very generous and sent us a gift voucher to buy some personalised items from their store. The start of school was fast approaching for us, so the girls choose their favourite designs and colours for vinyl and iron on name labels.
Unfortunately there was some delays with the labels and it took a lot longer than initially expected for them to arrive. Even though I was initially told it would be only 7 working days until they were posted when I enquired, a second email later informed me of the delay. But now that they are here they’ve been great. They stick on well and look fabulous.
Mooo are also working on reformatting their label packs and I am hoping they will offer a ‘family pack’ that allows you to order two different sets of names in the one pack. I’m sure it is not only families with twins that would find this useful!
I also snuck a pack of small chalk board wall stickers into my order… I just couldn’t resist! I have no idea where I am going to stick them though – does anyone have any great ideas?
So all in all, despite a little hitch in the communication about label times (and I know the weeks before school starting would have been a busy time of year for labels) I’ve been really impressed by this fabulous Australian based company. Go and check out their web site, they have so many great goodies!
