Last week I challenged you to let more happy in… this week I have challenged myself to notice and remember fourteen happy things.
1. The eery peace and beauty of misty rain on the main street at Sovereign Hill late on Monday afternoon.
2. Biggest kid holding the smallest kid’s hand.
3. Sitting on the couch chatting.
4. New Lego (just when I thought we couldn’t possibly need any more new Lego!)
5. Finding the three big kids in bed together, taking turns to read a book out loud.
6. A hot, hot shower.
7. Our house, even with all the mess and unfinished bits.
8. Hearing my girls refer to him as Johnny ‘Deep’.
9. Pig Impressions.
10. Raspberry drops
11. Letting the kids stay up extra late.
12. Not just ‘letting them’ watch DVDs but enjoying them watching without guilt or a feeling they should be doing something else because they’d already done everything!
13. Discovering little Noah-made worlds.
14. Corn chips.
Now it’s your turn.
Fourteen happy things… Go!
There is so much about this that made me smile. I can’t wait (well I can, but you know what I mean) until my kids are old enough to hold each other’s hands and snuggle up in bed together. Thanks so much for joining in with 52 Weeks of Grateful xx
What a lovely list, and lovely idea. I love the kids holding hands. And Johnny Deep, LOL!
Okay, here goes mine:
1.Sunny days after the fog lifts.
2.Discovering the kids have cleaned up the living room, off their own bat!
3.Getting my redundancy payout so I can focus on doing my own thing for the next several months (2.5 days per week anyway).
4.Ice on the railing in the morning.
5.Eliane (Ms Three) telling me her make-believe stories, before bedtime.
6.The big kids spending three hours playing with lego.
7.Play dough time.
8.Reading The Two Towers to Liam (my eldest).
9.Rose flavoured black tea.
10.School holiday lazy mornings.
11.Reading blogs of all different kinds.
12.Coffee.
13.Rhubarb and apple pie with the last rhubarb of the season.
14.Finding wisdom in old journals from my twenties.
Love your 14 things and I love how the simplest and most random of things are the very things that can make us feel happy. x
I think Johnny Deep would be very pleased with his new moniker!!
Let the happy in. x
Love! I challenged myself to ten things last week :) gorgeous moment to witness your little ones reading to each other. Love the Sovereign Hill image too x
What a wonderful list! I love that little treasure collection, that photo really drew me in and reminded me to look for beauty in the mess my kids are creating ;)
I love these happys Kate, little things that make you smile.
It made me laugh that you said corn chips, I’m making nachos for the kids as I’m reading, and they’re making me happy too :)
