It’s tough being four.
It’s even tougher being four when you have two older sisters, and a baby brother, and no one ever lets you play the things you want to play.
But sometimes it is good to be four.
It’s good to be four when your sisters have gone to school and your brother is having a nap and your Mum asks if you want to do something special.
It’s good to be four when your Bobo (Grandfather) is into wood turning and creates big bags of saw dust.
It’s good to be four when your Mum puts some sawdust in a tub and then lets you decide what else to put in with it.
It’s good to be four when you can sit and play with your little tub of saw dust for ages and ages.
It’s not so good to be four when your brother wakes up and wants to join in… but it’s nice to know that your little tub of imagination is tucked safely away, waiting for another moment when it’s good to be four.

Aw Kate, a lovely post. Everyone needs their own space, their own special thing. I imagine he’s one very happy four year old.

Oooh, it must be difficult being four sometimes but he’s so fortunate to have a wonderful mum like you to make special boxes of cool stuff. What fun!

Cute idea. And love that you can pull it out again when he is on his own. Oh to be 4 again!

Just a lovely post. It is hard for them, isn’t it. I love that you’ve made something special just for him. A tub of saw dust is a great idea, too.
