52 Grateful Blessings on Fridays?

Posted on January 18, 2008 5 Comments

Towards the end of last year I started writing ‘Grateful Friday’ posts, just to remind myself of all the little things in my life that I am thankful to have. This year I’d like to continue in this vain but I have also been inspired by the idea of taking photographs as well.

Kay at Moggie Madness and Leigh at Crazy Mezzer are also doing something similar, inspired by the 52 Blessings idea (check out the group on Flickr) which is a spin off of the 365 challenge (to post a photo every day for a year – no way I could do that!) so I am also jumping on the band wagon and giving this a go…

Busy Hands

These are Izzy’s hands. She is busy drawing a picture of Muski’s ‘dog on wheels toy’, you can see the wheels down the bottom…

I am grateful for these busy hands that love to draw. Both girls love to draw, and we love these new, soft, beautifully coloured pastels that we bought for Christmas. There is just something very satisfying about drawing with a soft oily pastel… It is so lovely to see them spending time together drawing and being creative, I hope they will enjoy being creative for their whole life.

This week I am also grateful for sleep… any little snippet of it I can get! Muski is working on some teeth… at least two, possibly three, all at once. So what little sleep we were getting before is even less now. He is still gorgeously happy for the most part – or down right furious – there doesn’t seem to be much in between, so I will be grateful when the teeth are all over and done with!

I am loving that we already have too many zuchinni’s from our veggie garden!

I am loving jumping on the trampoline on late summer evenings – when you bounce up and look out over the fence you can see for miles and miles – I am so grateful that we are able to live where we do.

Lastly, I am grateful for my new blog, for all the poeple who have helped me get it up and running and who continue to help me as I learn. I am especially grateful for everyone who has made the leap with me and doubly grateful for those who have had time to leave a comment. (tip – the comment link is at the top of each post in yellow, instead of at the bottom like it was with blogger… though I do intend to change that if I can!)

Is anyone else grateful for anything this week?

I reckon 52 Grateful Fridays works well too. Mine just fell on a Sunday for some reason – no religious connotations I assure you. :P
