Be kind and be thankful…

Posted on November 2, 2007 5 Comments

Time to look at the good things in life and be thankful….

We had a GREAT trip away… really really really good. Time spent with family without the distraction of a million things we should have, could have, would have been doing! And I am really pleased with some of the photos I managed to get too!

Ikea – gotta love that place. Met Mum out there the other day with the intention of buying Muski a new high chair. Yes we already have two from when the girls were little but one lives at my parents and my Mum doesn’t want to give it back and the other has a broken tray which costs more to replace than the whole high chair we bought! Plus this one is much easier to clean and takes up less space which is important in our little house. Muski is not quite ready to sit up in it yet.. he manages wedged in with the blow up cushion thing for a little while and is much happier up at our height at meal times than on the floor in his rocker, and come Christmas I think he’ll be more than ready. The girls know that he won’t be old enough to eat anything (except Boob milk) until at least Christmas Day, but I think they think he will suddenly sit up and enjoy Christmas dinner with us! Me on the other hand, I intend to take it VERY slowly and just see what happens!

Anyway back to Ikea.. so many groovy things… we of course bought more than we intended but still, it is cheap and it was all good stuff… and I could have bought sooooo much more! Their Christmas decorations were really cool! Totally recommend a trip out there before Christmas and may have to make another myself if I can find some spare $$ somewhere!

We are ever so grateful to the Magic Mermaid.. not just for the hat and stickers, but also because it seems that has cemented the birthday cake ideas of the girls and I am no longer required to make a ‘Bindi’s tree house’ cake for Izzy, she is now more than happy with a magic mermaid and a selection of sea creatures on top of cup cakes…. which I think may be doable.

So glad we got some seedlings in last week, even if the gale force winds did knock them about a lot and we may loose a few. We should be able to get some more in today or tomorrow… maybe I am getting old and daggy but it is a really good feeling to plant things especially things that we will eat some day… I love that!

Almost as strange and daggy as the plant thing is my cooking thing… last week I made THE BEST Naan Bread.. which were so much more successful than any bread roll I have attempted that I am going to give up on bread rolls and just make the Naan cause it works just the same. ACE!

And right now I am super grateful that the boy is asleep (and for more than an hour it is a miracle!) and that the Baldy Boy is feeding the girls so I don’t have to…. aw…. that is way better than flowers!
