If you love a good birth story then you should head over Sarcastic Mom’s Birth Story Carnival and get your fill! I am late coming to this party but when I read Tiff’s and Baby Amore’s stories I just HAD to join in!
I have two birth stories to tell, each so incredibly different from the other in every way!
The Twinadoes were my first babies to be born way back in 2003. They were born at 29 weeks and 3 days gestation via c-section due to Twin To Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS) and weighed in at a tiny 960grams (Zoe) and 1316 grams (Izzy). More of their story is here in this post – which I wrote after Muski was born in an attempt to explain why his birth meant so much to me.
Muski’s birth was everything the girls was not. He was born at 42 weeks and 3 days gestation, and, after thinking he would never be born I got my much wanted VBAC. He was a whopping 4.6 kgs…. the exact opposite to his sisters in every way! This is the short version of his birth – I am yet to write up a longer version so it will have to do!
Oooh I may join in too
cool! I love birth stories. Off to do some reading…
I have three birth stories.
My first was 10 days overdue and arrived in about 10 hours . Just the time her father went home thinking nothing was happening and missed the birth. She was 8lb 4oz
My second was 14 days late. The Dr a GP turned him 13 times as he was breach. Every time he turned him I would walk out of surgery and flip! He would turn himself back again. Three days before he was born he turned down and all 9lb 3oz of him was born two hours after my first contraction. The midwife sent his father home as I “would be hours”; didn’t ring the doctor, then tried to hold him back for twenty minutes till the doctor got there. Neither the doctor nor his father was there for the birth.
He has spent his whole life in similar vein and thirty six years on I’m still waiting for him to turn and come into sync with the rest of us!
The doctor induced me at 8.30am when I was 8 days over due with the third. I asked when I’d see him and he said around twelve would be good. The most beautiful of my babies arrived just an hour later. He was 8lb 10oz and yet again his father and the doctor missed the birth.
I have enjoyed reading the birth stories of some of the bloggers I read! Having not given birth myself (yet!…I hope to one day!) it is interesting (and somewhat scary) to read. I hadn`t realized your twins were so early born!!! What super babies!!
My younger brother was 10lb 10oz and about a week overdue and my dad was 13 lb….I really hope that I have a small baby. I was 7lb 6oz I think…
Thanks for sharing!
I only had one story, but after that story I now know the value of a good birth story!

Oh my god 42.5 weeks! My dr is all for a VBAC, but won’t let me go over my due date, so I have 3.5 weeks left to get it out myself, not that I’m too worried about another caesar. As long as I can hold it after it’s born and I can have it in my room.
