What a super great time I had last night!
For a fleeting moment I thought my babysitter was not going to turn up on time, but to her credit she came through for me (with a few minutes to spare even) and the girls didn’t even notices that I had left… to busy reading with ‘Aunty Sarbah!”
So armed with my pinwheels, my bead and a giant zucchini (for Belinda, not Laura!) of I went. Swung past Kate’s (BubbaJ Kate!) and told her I’d drive so she could drink, cleaned the stale sultanas out of one of the girls seats, strapped Emma in, said goodbye to a sad Jack and his Dadda and we were off!!!
I won’t bore you all with the details since you can read them on Leah or Laura’s blogs, but I will restate what a great time we had.
It all just felt so right. Good friends all together sharing something wonderful! Laura just glowed the whole night. I was all goosebumpy when we shared the reading of her blessing, especially when I saw the baby seemingly doing somersaults in her belly as we all read! The Henna was just SUPER cool… and I loved sitting and chatting with everyone while getting to play and create the affirmation flags.
I love that this seems to be a tradition that we’ll all definitely continue with and share with each other. Tradition is not something that I would ever have thought I’d feel was important. And tradition in the sense of old stuff that people do ‘just because’ is definitely not me… but now that we have a family it suddenly seems very important to me to create traditions, fun, happy, enjoyable traditions. I want to pass on little bits of myself and my family and what is important to us…. and I LOVE that I am part of an amazing circle of women to share this amazing process with.
Ofcourse I lay in bed when I got home and my head was spinning with thoughts!
‘Maybe we should have another baby, I want to have a blessingway too!’
Which almost made me giggle out loud, because wanting a blessingway is the perfect reason to have a baby hey!?! The I decided I didn’t care who had the baby I just wanted to be part of that again….
I am also busting with photos… put the girls to bed early so I could download them off the camera and put them up on photobucket for Laura to see…. but I am going to let Laura have the pleasure of posting them somewhere first.. afterall it is her gorgeous belly and baby, all hennaed and glittery to share!
Ahh it all just makes me smile.
Thank you to all my wonderful friends and especially to Laura for allowing me to be part of something so special!
