“There’s always so much cleaning to be done by everyoooone… Cleaning, cleaning, there’s always so much cleaning to be done, to be done”
Yes we are all channelling John from Playschool in this house (hands up who misses John from playschool? I mean we love Jay and Reece is a honey but John was just hysterical… thank goodness we have him doing the fairy song on DVD! And for those of you who are not Aussie and have no idea what I am talking about… you need to pester your TV stations till they run episodes of Playschool!)
Anyway…. back on topic… cleaning!
This morning the Twinadoes and I tackled their bedroom. They share a room (three kids in a two bedroom house here.. we all share a room!) and it is kind of small for the both of them plus all their toys and clothes (did I mention that we have no storage in this house at all?) so it gets messy pretty quickly from all of us dumping and running at various times. So today, like the good little child slaves they are, they helped me tidy up… and here is the result…
This is Izzy’s side of the bedroom.
And this is Zoe’s side of the bedroom.
I know, I really should have made the beds before I took the photo, but Muski was being held captive on one or other bed to stop him dragging things off the shelf, so you will just have to imagine the bed’s made with their gorgeous handmade quilts on them ok.
Please note the fish wall stickers that I won right before Christmas via the All for Women Blog!! The magic mermaid had a heck of time putting them up on Christmas Eve without waking the sleeping Twinadoes!
Also note the flags that hang between the two beds… the girls wanted to make their room more ‘princessesy’ (as you do when you are four) and saw a photo of this kind of bunting on a blog I was looking at and decided we needed to make some. This was their first time sewing with the machine, and while I did most of the work with cutting and helping they both actually managed to ‘drive’ and sew most of the straight seams of the flags, so they are very impressive.
The mosquito nets are there for practical reasons not for show as even in the middle winter we have huge killer mosquitoes that eat us all alive in the night time if we are not careful.
So there you have it… I had to post photos of the girls room so neat and tidy because it may not happen again for a long long time. If we are really lucky in about a year’s time Muski might be moving into this room (minus the princessy touches) and the girls will be in our bedroom and the Baldy Boy and I will have a new bedroom…. all to ourselves… won’t that be novel! Well I can live in hope anyway.
So one room down, five more to go!
