  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp golden syrup (treacle/molasses)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup self raising flour
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp allspice
  • ¾ cup of milk
  1. In a medium sized bowl combine the sugar, golden syrup, and egg and whisk together.
  2. Add the flour and spices and a little milk and mix.
  3. Add the rest of the milk a little at a time. mixing well, until you have a thick pancake batter.
  4. Place spoonfuls of mixture onto a hot, a well buttered, fry pan and cook until you see bubbles forming. Flip the pancake over and cook the other side until golden.
