First Birthday Plans?

Posted on May 24, 2008 7 Comments

Can you believe, just a little over a year ago, my baby boy looked like this…

Muski 3 weeks

(This is a digital scrapbook layout made with the Shabby Princess Kit – Smarshmellows)
In a few weeks we’ll be partying for his first birthday and I am not ready! So much to think about, so much to organise and so far all we have agreed on is a date!

I’d like his first birthday to be a little special. For the Twinadoe’s first birthday it was just a miracle we all survived that long, but it was still a great occasion, but for Muski – I think something a little different. Something that will involve embracing the freezing weather (because I am sure it will be freezing). Something that involves gumboots and rain coats. Something that marks our decision for our kids to grow up in a rural setting. Something that celebrates my boy…

What do you do to celebrate a first birthday?

Oh wow! Congratulations on your almost first year! Time goes so quickly doesn’t it?! We had Miss V’s second birthday today. I still can’t believe she’s 2. We had a rainbow theme for her first birthday, with each colour representing a different part of our celebration. We had it at home with lots of personal touches and Miss V’s favourite games.
I’m sure you’ll come up with something spectacular :)

What a beautiful photo and it looks stunning with the digital scrapping stuff! First birthday’s are pretty special and I always try and have them reflect the child’s interest as much as possible.

Lovely idea to embrace the cold – much better option than trying to pretend its not there, but still having to deal with it!

E was all excited the other day as we had ice here and thought that meant you must have snow hahahaha

Our first birthdays ummm are mainly lots of yummy food and lots of kids having a blast.

LOL, too funny, I was just sitting here planning the birthday bash for Luey (M’s birthday twin) and Erik!!! It’s birthday season again!!!

For first birthdays, I stay home, but invite something like 15 adults and 20 kids over for cake and pinada and lollybags – well that’s what I did for Bryn’s first… Then I skip birthdays the next year, rofl, to recover from the noise!!!
