This week has been loooooooooooooong.
The Baldy Boy has been home sick/on holidays and there is nothing better than a man whining about his stuffed up head to make a week drag on. Add in a fair bit of green snot for the small boy, a lingering cough for the Twinadoes and the same head cold for me… and blergh…. everything has been hard this week.
So in light of the current blergh-ness… here are some Gratefuls to try kick my butt into a better attitude.
1. Tissues – pink tissues in a rose covered box to be exact.
I bought pink tissues by accident, but every small child in my house can’t get enough of wiping their nose with these fancy pink tissues, so snot trails and booger sleeves have all but disappeared! I love pink tissues!
2. Little achievements.
In a week that has been foggy and muddle headed it’s been nice to actually achieve something… anything.. no matter how small that thing is. I’ve managed to almost finish a blog design this week and I am really pleased with how it is working out (I’m almost never pleased with how designs work out so this is an added bonus). Here’s hoping the client likes it too!
3. Kinder
Kinder held a belated mother’s Day Morning Tea this week and although we don’t celebrate Mothers Day it was really nice to spend some time at the Twinadoes’ Kinder. The girls were VERY excited to share the morning tea they had made – they’d even made menus and put table cloths and flowers on the tables. It feels good to know they are enjoying time at a lovely kinder, with a great teacher, yet another reminder that we made the right decision for them to repeat this year.
4. Tank-oo
Muski says ‘Tank-oo’ every so politely every time someone gives him something.
“hurt fin-ger…kiss?…… Tank-oo”
“my turn??….. Tank-oo”
“me apple….. Tank-oo”
Makes me smile.
5. People.
It goes without saying that I am grateful for my family… even the one dying of Man Flu, but we’ve crossed paths with some lovely, friendly and interesting people this week which always makes life a little better.
6. Dancing Ducks.
By Friday I have often forgotten the joy of Monday afternoons. It’s so easy to forget how wonderful it is to take the girls to their ballet lessons. Not only do they absolutely, totally and utterly adore every thing about it, but it is also guaranteed to make me laugh. If the wonky plies (imagine an accent over that last e ok) don’t make me giggle I just have to wait until the tap class begins. Eight 3-6 year olds all trying to shuffle stamp in time… it’s a gaggle of gangly legs, crazy arms and a heck of a lot of noise. Very funny.
The oven is beeping at me so I think I am done…. Anyone else grateful today?
I want some of those pink tissues, they sound cute! Sorry you had a long, draining week! Hopefully next week will be uneventful!
I am grateful that my baby is better, that my other half has next week off to help me around the house, that my 3 year old has finally decided it is too cold to wear his “swimming clothes” every day and that I got and iPhone for my birthday! :)
I am grateful that we haven’t had green snot!!! And that there were enough Pony Pal books in the library for dd to suddenly immerse her sick self in reading.
I keep thinking that I really need to get Bronwen into dance classes….
get better soon

A lovely list Kate. :)
