Mincepuffs!

Posted on April 26, 2008 1 Comment

I know this blog has been a bit ‘food food’ of late but I just have to share this news with you all. I will never make regular hamburgers/rissoles ever again!

Earlier this week the Saving Mum newsletter popped into my email in box and it had a recipe in it for mince puffs. Since we had a freezer full of mince and the last of our huge and delicious tomatoes to eat I thought I’d give it a go.

Yum, yum and YUM! These are just great!

They are easy to make, only a handful of ingredients we almost always have around the house, and there was no worry about your patties falling to pieces as you cook them. You simply drop dollops of the mix in the the fry pan and cook, not even any messy rolling and flattening. Above all they were really tasty! The were moist and just really good. Even the Baldy Boy said they were the best rissoles he’s ever had!!

I imagine they’d be really easy to add a variety of ingredients too to play around with the flavours a bit. You could easily spice them up, or add grated veggies as the mix would hold them together really well. You could make them with chicken mince or they’d be lovely with a spicy lamb mince mix. I have plans to try making a whole lot of bite sized ones in different flavours to have as ‘finger food’ with dipping sauces at our next party.

So there you have it… my revelation for the week and a new recipe too!

that looks ok. We use a couple of crushed weetbix, some grated vege’s and a couple of eggs.
