In other Muski news… as I said in the previous post, he is almost 6 months old, where that time went I have no clue. Well ok, I do know, a good portion of it was spent sitting right here like I am now.. cranky baby in arms, typing one handed while trying to get him to sleep!
Ah bliss.. I have both hands back.. for now anyway.
Apart from the lack of sleep thing… which really isn’t that bad, he is a delight!
He is a total chatterbox, gabbing away to himself all the time but he is truly happy if someone else will sit and talk to him for a bit. He breaks out into fits of giggles at the strangest things, sometimes you just have to look at him side ways and he cacks himself! He cracked up tonight as I was washing his hands with a face washer! Waking up to him sticking his fingers up my nose and laughing his head off almost makes up for all the times he never sleeps… almost.
He can sit up in the high chair or if propped up with pillows or with help but he must have a round bum and a heavy head as if you sit him up unsupported he instantly rolls over to his side… and giggles. He likes to do the Tango and to be zubberted. His chews EVERYTHING, his toes, any bit of paper he can get his hands on (his favourite paper to chew is a Tupperware catalogue!), any body part of anyone. He loves to pull his sister’s hair and to grab and pinch any bare skin.
We’ve had our moments with breastfeeding. A while back he chewed a HUGE gash in my nipple (ok it probably wasn’t that huge but it felt huge to me!) so I had to get out the trusty milking machine and express again. Apart from that, oh and you know, those nagging worries about whether you really do have enough milk, and whether he is getting enough… is he hungry? is that why he won’t sleep?.. you know, those sort of crazy doubts.. apart from that, he is a great feeder. I have no idea what he weighs (we missed our last weigh in when Zoe lost her teeth and have been too slack to reschedule) but I am sure that it is more than enough. Reflux has been a bit of an issue on and off, not as bad as with the girls but enough to still have us covered in puke several times a day. He’s still rashy and we still have no idea what causes the flair ups but we deal with it.
He enjoys sitting up in the high chair while we all eat meals. It took us a while but he’ll now drink breast milk out of a sippy cup (so we can sneak in some reflux meds) though he won’t have anything to do with a bottle (no fake nipples for this child!). He loves to chew on a rubbery spoon and in the last few days he’s had small tries of avocado and banana which he has loved. I think he is much like his sisters on the food front, there isn’t much they don’t like and if given the opportunity they will just inhale food until it is all gone. At this stage though ‘solid food’ (which is so not solid, it is mashed to bits and mixed with breast milk, but anyway) is just for entertainment and we are taking it VERY slowly given the reflux and his rashiness… but he sure seems to like avocado… pity I am not so in love with the green spew!
So there you have it.. a Muski the Monster review.. and here is a recent photo… just for Master K. Excuse the large wet patch under his chin, that seems to be a permanent feature these days.
Awww, gorgeous boy :) Congratulations on almost 6 months ;) He’s going to be up to all sorts of mischief by the time I get to see him again. Give him a cuddle from me, and those gorgeous girls too xxx
