Organise ’08 – Back to Work

The Twindaoes go back to kinder tomorrow (today is set-up day for their teachers) and so it is back to work for all of us. Back to getting up at a reasonable hour, back to making sure we all have appropriate clean clothes to wear, and back to making sure there is enough healthy snacks to fill up their lunch boxes three days a week.

Hopefully it will also mean that I get back to being a bit more productive. Being forced into getting up before 9am is good for me, not to mention the fact that I get ten hours a week without the Twindoe’s around. A lot will hinge on when Muski decides to sleep though. He is sleeping so much better in general these days, but since we haven’t been getting up at the crack of dawn (7:30am and ok I know that is not early for some but it is early for us!) and he has been sleeping till 8:30 or 9am some days, and since we haven’t had to do drop offs or pick ups he’s been having just one big day sleep after lunch. Sadly, while that works so well for his sleeping needs it doesn’t fit that well with our kinder drop off and pick up schedules – so I think it will take us a while to settle back into the whole day sleeps vs kinder thing.

Still, I have high hopes and lots of plans.

While it is still FREEEEEEZING at our place and not really conducive to growing much I am quietly planning our spring garden. Waiting for seed catalogues to arrive and trying to decide whether and when I will attempt to get in some early early seeds this year.

I have design work coming out my ears! PBP is turning two at the end of this month and I have commitments a plenty with regard to that, a custom birthday invitation that needs to be finalised and a few blog headers sitting in my ‘when I have time’ basket…. I promise I will get to you soon guys!

There are also a few niggly house things that are bugging me. Nothing mind blowing, just little bits of clutter or stuff I have been meaning to get on top of for ages but I just haven’t managed it yet. I was reading A Juggling Mum this morning and she is beginning her ‘Winter Wipeout‘ and challenging herself to foucs on one room in the house each week, and I thought I might steal some of her motivation and join her.

This week she is focussing on one of her kid’s bedrooms – and since we only have one kids bedroom (though I really do wish for more!) I am going to finish up a few things I have been meaning to do in the Twinadoes’ room. Actually their room got a pretty good work out right before Musk’s birthday so it isn’t too bad, but there is a laundry basket of stuff that is waiting for someone to find them a home and I’ve plonked down a few ‘bits and pieces’ in the corner because I had no where else to put them. So this week the plan is to find homes for the basket of stuff, to take the two bags of donations to the op shop and have a general tidy of the girl’s room.

Now I am not promising to come here and blog when I accomplish this small list… because that would entail admitting that I actually don’t accomplish even half of what I set out to do, and that would be a tad embarrassing. But hey, it is the thought that counts yeah and you never know, maybe this time I will manage it all, since I only set myself a really small list of things!

we are currently stocking our freezer with back to school snacks and tomorrow will be lunches so that they are all done and ready for next week.

Good luck with your one room a week challenge. :)

Kate, I often make lists and then tell myself it’s the thought that counts!

Hoping you get your list done.
Mine? It will never be ticked off.
