peaceful house, clever baby

Posted on November 9, 2007 2 Comments

It’s very quiet in this house tonight….

I left the girls behind at my parents place so that I could do some sneaky birthday and Christmas shopping on the way home without them. They’ll be back in the morning but until then I am enjoying the peaceful house with just me and Muski. (The baldy boy is at work)

We enjoyed a very peaceful car ride home. I got to choose whatever music I wanted, because Muski thinks I have excellent taste, and that I can sing so very beautifully. We enjoyed a peaceful run around the shops collecting up bits and pieces for the Magic Mermaid party, a peaceful dinner, a peaceful bath and now a peaceful sleep in the hammock – well Muski is anyway.

It seems he is enjoying just a little bit of time without his big sisters yelling and shouting and giggling and never giving anyone else a chance to get a word in as on the way home in the car Muski suddenly decided he could talk. Well ok no he didn’t suddenly sit there and say ‘hey Mum isn’t it nice and quiet without my sisters?’ – thank goodness really as I probably would have run off the road… but all of a sudden he started making ‘word noises’. Previously it was all a lot of grunting and ‘Nn–ga’ing but this afternoon he was all

“Bub bub bub, baaaaaaaaa bub bub bub baaaaaaa bub wa bub wa“

OK so it doesn’t look so impressive in type but seriously it was pretty clever! Add to the ‘bub-wa’s the fact that it only took him one day to figure out what the deal was when I’d pat his mouth with my hand and say ‘aaaaaahhhh‘. You know, that sort of in ‘indian call’ thing (sorry not terribly politically correct I know, but I can’t think of any other way to describe it… maybe it should be ‘native American call thing’??). Now when he grabs my hands he looks at me and grins and say ‘aaaaaah‘ while trying to shove my fingers in his mouth, so I pat his mouth with my hand and he makes the ‘wa wa wa wa‘ sound and he laughs his head off… sooooooooo clever!

Muski and I were also supposed to enjoy a party plan night out without having to drag the girls along but sadly my friends husband had an accident so that has had to be postponed… thinking of you guys, hope life picks up and settles down for you soon!

So since it just happens to be ‘grateful Friday’ I am grateful for a peaceful house and a clever baby… among other things!
