You know I thought I’d heard all the crazy comments from random strangers in shopping centres when the girls were little.
Having two tiny identical looking babies kind of attracts the nutters. I’ve been asked if I had sex in some special way to get twins, if they can read each other’s minds, if they are real, and more ‘double trouble’s than I care to remember.
When I had one, normal sized, singleton baby I figured we’d fly under the radar. Except for a few ‘aw how cute’ comments when he was tiny I thought we’d avoid all the crazies that the girls seem to attract.
How wrong I was.
Perhaps I just have ‘make a stupid comment about my children’ written on my forehead because we were stopped by four different people in the short time we were out this morning, all exclaiming over Muski’s hair.
“Is it real?????”
(no, it’s a wig!)
“Is it natural???”
(no, I peroxide my almost two year olds hair every 4 weeks to get it to look like this)
“He can’t be a boy with such gorgeous hair!”
(of course not, boys can’t be beautiful.)
And the winner today….
“Is he healthy? Sick babies have hair like that”
What??????
Yes… he has blonde hair. Yes, white blonde hair. Haven’t you people seen anyone with very blonde hair before? I’m sure I saw at least three other similarly haired children at the shops this morning… it’s not that unusual is it?
He is gorgeous and people ARE crazy! But you already know that!
I can’t believe what some people will say to strangers. I think he is gorgeous (and not just because I had crazy white hair too).
Oh my god ! how rude are some people ROFL is it real????
oh yeah.BTDT too.twins really do seem to bring out the nutters…even if your twins are frats.I often used to get told the one in green(Twin 1) should have been a BOY coz she looks like one……….ughhhhhhhh.
didn’t anyone listen to Thumper??if you can’t say anything nice……….don’t say nuthing at all!!!
stupid people……….hugs
Umm have you thought about going to a different shopping centre :-)
Where do these people come from? How bizarre that they would even think it, let alone say it a stranger! My SIL used to get lots of stupid comments about her boy-girl twins, including lots of “Are they identical?” even when they knew they were boy-girl. :)
There is none so strange as those who fill silence with stupidity!
Aw, hon, you just need to live in scandinavia – Muski wouldn’t stand out AT ALL in Iceland, I swear! My brother and I had hair like that as children – I have WISHED that each of my children were that blonde (like me as a baby)…
He’s gorgeous, they’re just jealous, that’s all…
You actually got asked if your twins were real? As opposed to what? Holograms?
I love your blog design by the way. Very unique.
People say the strangest things! He is so cute and his hair suits him so much! xx
LOL – Yes, I can relate too. Some people I think are more stupid than crazy though.
But seriously – Muski wears contact lenses right? Cause those eyes are way to gorgeous to be real…
He is gorgeous! I know what you are saying. My son who is 6 now had white blonde hair, blue eyes and very pale skin when he was little. His hair is getting darker now, but these kids are oh so beautiful! Bring on the blondes!!
Hey! I have pink hair, my daugthers hair is pink and purple, and I tell people that I dye our hair brown to blend in…… :)
Sick babies have hair like that?
What is wrong with people?
oh gracious, that boy is gorgeous!
That’s hilarious! Nathan’s had the “too beautiful to be a boy” one. People say the weirdest things!
*sigh*
Forget crazy.
How about, ‘People are flaming idiots’!
