Do you want to know how I know that we made the right decision to not send the Twindoes to school this year? Do ya? Do ya? Huh? Huh?
How do I know??
This is how…
That is what they bought home from kinder yesterday. That is all the art they created in one session, four hours, of kinder. Prolific little creatures aren’t they.
And why does this tell me that we did the right thing sending back for another year of kinder?? Because despite the fact that they really love to do arty things, last year they barely did a drawing, let alone a painting, pasting or other art activity…. because they were too busy simply coping. This year, they are happy… so happy that they have time to do four paintings each, and more… not to mention puzzles and home corner and playing outside… etc etc.
Yep… they are making art by the ton, they are happy, we did the right thing. Score one for the parents!
If you are into digi scrapping head on over to my other blog, Lazy Cow Designs as I’ve been a tad prolific in the arty farty department myself!
WORD.
Dude, I could’ve written this. Amen.
We dont really have a say on when Bronwen goes to school… all children who are turning five next year in Ontario go to school. Full stop, do not pass go, do not collect $200.
And I was a mean Mummah today… I made Bronwen throw out a stack of artwork … there is just too much of it. I feel bad, at the same time, I dont have the space to keep it all.. *sigh* Not sure what a win/win situation would look like when it comes to art.
what a wonderful collection of ARTWORK :) and for the other thing, who else would know best!
Now if only you had a crystal ball and before all the stress and anxiety of last year wondering if you were making the right decision you could look to now and see that it is the perfect decision for your daughters and family.
So wonderful to hear they are enjoying this year and most of all that you are all happy with life right now :)
Oh that’s so brilliant! How glad it must make your heart to know your kids are happy, that you read them correctly, that you made the right decision. That pile is such a happy vision. Clearly they are at peace, they are thriving. Yay!
well done mumma..trust your instinct!!!
ok, the clutter-phobe in me is already freaking out at the thoughts of how much craft stuff they bring home from church every week. when they start pre-k in the fall…i’m going to have to rent a self-storage unit or something. am i a horrible mommy if i throw it away? ugh. what a dilemma.
That is so totally cool and awesome Kate, yay!!
A mother’s intuition is best…Kindergarten is an amazing place. x
Wow! That is quite a stack of artwork! I bet they had a wonderful time creating it!
