Saturday Links – The School Holiday Edition!

Posted on April 9, 2011 4 Comments

We are officially on school holidays at the Pickle Farm. We have two and a bit (thanks to Easter) weeks where I don’t have to make school lunches or drag myself out of bed. Two weeks to do all kinds of fun stuff!

So here are some links to fun stuff we want to try during the holidays…

If the weather stays nice we are going to make some waterfalls like the one at Science at Home.

Made By Joel is a blog full of interesting, clever things to make with and for kids, and they are all also beautiful. I am not a huge fan of colouring but these colour-ins are so lovely they might just change my mind.

April 12th is ‘Free Cone Day’ at Ben and Jerry’s Scoop Shop. If you happen to live near a Ben and Jerry’s (sadly we don’t) pop in and have an ice cream for me!

I’m wondering if my girls could manage making these cool frayed fabric pony tail holder from Chick Chick Sew.

It’s been so long since we’ve made play dough… I’ve promised the three year old that we’ll male it green, his favorite colour.

And of course we’ll bake stuff… perhaps these cinnamon roll cupcakes from Chocolate and Carrot

Are you on holidays? If so what are your plans?

Oooh – I can so imagine a waterfall down the side of the big boys cubby fort. Can’t wait to send dad to the store for some lattice now

Thanks for sharing the Made by Joel website. He has FANTASTIC uncomplicated ideas that my son will spend hours playing with. I particularly like the idea of drilling holes in a board to put the little twigs in to make a forrest.

Yes I loved the board with the holes too.. so simple yet so effective and so many different ways a child could use it!
