1. Project 365 – 334 = ?

I am thinking about doing project 365, except that I’ve tried it twice and only managed to take photos for about 4 days before I gave up. But I keep seeing all these fabulous collections. I keep wanting to capture the moments of our lives. I badly want to get back into digital scrap booking and maybe dabble in some Project Life, you know, in my spare time.

So I am thinking of trying again…but for just a month. So it would be more like, project 32. Though ‘Project April’ has a nicer ring to it, don’t you think?
Who is with me? Who’s up for taking a photo every day in April? Or every other day… or at least most days….

2. And the Nominees Are…

I’ve been nominated for the Kidspot Voices of 2013 which is rather nice. I join a long list of great blogs. Some of them I know well, some not so well and other’s are new to me. So I thought I’d share a few of the lovely blogs I randomly clicked on while checking out the list …

3. Are They Twins?

It’s almost the end of Multiple Birth Awareness week here in Australia and I opened up my facebook page to anyone who wanted to ask a question about twins. I’m extending that invitation here too and sharing this old post Things You Should Know About Our Twins which answers some of the questions we get asked most often.
You can also check out the Australian Multiple Birth Association’s facebook page for lots more information and resources.

4. My Kids Like Books.

We spent 2 hours at the library last night. Despite it being the most dangerous place we’ve ever visited (Zoe smashed in her three front teeth at this library aged three) my kids still love it, big time. I had to drag the toddler kicking and screaming out of the building because I wouldn’t let him borrow the Meg and Mog books we already own, but the big kids all trotted out happily and buried their noses in the piles of books they borrowed as soon as they were strapped into the car. I can’t tell you how much I love that my kids love books. I just love it.

I am sad that will miss the 2013 Children’s Book Festival at the State Library in Melbourne on March 24th, but if you have book lovers you might like to pop along. If you are not in Melbourne then check out My Little Bookcase for lots of book inspiration for little people.

5. Bits and Pieces

The proper, edu-ma-cational, term is ‘loose parts’ (can’t tell you how many times I took out an ‘o’ then added it back in, then took it out again!) but we call them ‘bits and pieces’ in our house. Noah and I are getting a little obsessed with the whole loose parts concept. I am as enthralled by making patterns and lines and collections of ‘bits and pieces’ as he is. I mentioned it in this weeks post about activities for fine motor development, but loose parts play allows kids to learn and create in so many ways!

Here are a few lovely posts on the subject full of inspiration and information:
Loose Parts for Creative Imaginative Play – Childhood101
Thrifty Block Play with lots of loose parts – Mummy Musings and Mayhem
Loose Parts – Casa Maria’s Creative Learning Zone
The Theory of Loose Parts – An Everyday Story (I know I linked to this in my fine motor activity post, but it’s so good I had to link it again!)

6. Sticky Stuff

I walked into the lounge room the other day and found Noah sitting with a huge sticky ball of greenish looking stuff. “Sorry Mum” he chimed and as I looked closer I realised he had unrolled an entire roll of my lovely washi tape! Uh Oh! He was having a lovely time with it, all nice and sticky and interesting, but I can’t say I was all that impressed.

I only have two rolls of delicious washi tape… make that one now. I keep seeing gorgeous projects using beautiful tape on pinterest and I so want to get more of the little rolls of prettiness, but I never seem them in the shops and I am no good at impulse buying if I have to look for items online. But I want some… bad.

Share your random thoughts, loves and actions…

Do you have a burning question about twins?
Have your ever tried Project 365?
Do you have rolls of washi tape? Do you do anything with it? Where did you get it?

D-lish scraps has washi tape – enough different patterns to make impulse buying possible.

I’ve never been good at project 365, but I’m doing ok at keeping up{ish} at fmsphotoaday this year, and I’m ten weeks into project life (although I have yet to put 3 weeks into my album)

Congratulations on your nomination. I’m sure you’ll deservedly soar to the Top 100.

I’m terrible at keeping a record of my children’s life. I just don’t get to the photo shop to have photos printed, and online photo albums are just too time consuming. Recently I thought that MLB has in a round-a-bout way been a record of my daughter’s life at home with me. So, I’m considering starting a new blog (just for me and my fam) that documents all those little moments in our lives.

Thanks for sending your readers our way for a bit of bookish inspiration.

I’m yet to jump on the washi tape bandwagon. it does look pretty but I have a little one who loves tape ;)

I’m on year 5 of Project Life, well not really, I started it last year but have done from 2009 up to Feb this year. I’m finding doing PL monthly instead of weekly soooo much easier to keep up with. As for P365 – totally no good at it. Have tried 3 years running and always give up about May – June. I am managing to keep up with FatMumSlim’s lists so far this year.

Good luck with the pics…i knew i would never keep up so i haven’t gone down that road as yet.
Thanks so much for including a link to our block loose parts play…am enjoying exploring all the links in this post x

Congratulations on your nomination =) I hope you win because I love your blog :) Nope I was never successful with Project 365 ( failed twice). I think the April challenge looks good too. Would love to join :) Though I do not know a thing about digital scrapbooking.
