Six On Saturday

1.Shy

Do you have a ‘shy’ or introverted child? This great post from Play Fight Repeat talks about introverts and how they fair in the school system. Definitely something to ponder with kids who are on the introverted end of the scale.

2. Fun Science

My kids have a bit of a thing for crystals. We’ve grown our fair share in the past but they’d love to make these letter shaped crystals Mess for Less and these home made rock candy lolly pops from Gluesticks have been on our list to try for ages.

3. Sing it, Disney Style

I confess… I love a good Disney sing -a-long and this one man show on youtube is all kinds of awesome. That guy has talent!

4. Autumn

Right now it is acorn collecting, but there is a definite chill in the air now, so in a few weeks it will be autumn leaves that gt picked up and bought home. I love this idea of punching shapes out of beautifully coloured autumn leaves.

5. Need

I need a new iphone so I can take better pictures and do cool stuff with my instagrams. I’m katepickle on instagram, and almost everywhere else :)

6. Sometimes… Like Now.

That last sentiment really hit home for me. I, just ten minutes ago, had to step outside, get some fresh air, and remind myself of who I am and who I want to be. My five year old has really been pushing my buttons today. Although I handled both full on tantrums, eh…. fairly well (I did lose my cool, but not too badly) I harshed on myself that I didn’t handle them better….

Remind myself of who I am and who I want to be.

I’ll keep working on that. Thank you!

I love these random thoughts and links you share with us on the weekend Kate! Funny you mention your phone…my old one just gave up and I had to get a new one but can’t figure much out on it and had to get the teen to sort it for me…accompanied by much shaking of her head and mumbling about oldies under her breath…ever felt like your 90!!!
