Up and down… that is the only way to describe the last little while. It all started on Friday October 5th….Bad
Friday the destructo twins strike again ruining several rather expensive items, the same afternoon the PC dies a slow and painful death, this time it really is the end. I send a message to the Baldy Boy at work – ‘find a new wife and mother, I quit.’
Good
Sunday afternoon we spend time with the ‘Greats’ – two aunts and a grandmother, making fairy parks in the garden and generally enjoying each others company.
Bad and Good
Tuesday I say goodbye to my little red car. I LOVED my little red car…. I didn’t really want to give it up but it seemed the right time to trade up to a bigger model. ‘bigger model’ being the operative words since I now drive a rather large, rather white, Tarago! It is very spiffy, a very smooth ride and is soooo much easier to get the kids in and out of. But I still try to change gears, I still suck at parking it and I still miss my little red car.Good
Wednesday, Muski learns a new trick… he can roll from his back to his tummy. Pity he can’t roll back and he gets stuck with his arm wedged under his tummy and has to yell until someone comes to rescue him!
Good
Thursday the new PC arrives… very noice.. very noice indeed! We finally sort out new net access… it is slooooooooow but we have unlimited downloads (YAY!) and are paying about a third less… getting closer to something decent! We meet the gorgeous Miss Willow and get to catch up with our lovely friends for a little while!
Very Bad
Friday we visit the library just after lunch, we are just about ready to leave with a pile of new books when Zoe runs towards the book display, trips on her own feet and falls mouth first into the display shelf. She smashes her teeth in… literally.
We end up in the ER at RCH waiting to see the on call emergency dentist after the ER Drs decide she hasn’t broken her nose or her jaw just her teeth. We see a really super wonderful lady Dentist who is just so very lovely to both of the girls and we make plans for Zoe to have the smashed in teeth removed during surgery sometime over the weekend.
Bad
Saturday we wait to see if there is a time for Zoe to have the surgery, there isn’t so we spend the day seeking soft food and the night trying to get by without a dummy for the first time ever!
Bad
Sunday, we are at RCH by 8am and go up for the op at around 11am. I hold my baby in my arms as they put her to sleep and 20 minutes later I am back to hold her when she wakes up, minus her three top front teeth. She is very brave but freaks out coming out of the anaesthetic and goes a little nuts… screaming that her teeth are freezing and she HAS to put her head under a hot hot tap. Eventually she wakes up more and calms down… she wants food and scoffs all kinds of food that we didn’t think she’d manage for days and we come home to a DVD marathon and another night without the dummy.
Good
Today, the swelling is going down, Zoe can almost smile again but I struggle to understand a lot of what she says which is frustrating all of us. We get to see our wonderful friends for a little bit in the afternoon, and get to say good bye to Tannah and Willow before they go home to Queensland. I tuppa–ise the kitchen cupboards and the tooth fairy visits leaving $2 per tooth…. the idea of the tooth fairy also taking the dummies doesn’t work out.
So that brings you all up to day with our life at the moment. It explains my narky message to the tooth fairy, and why blogging has been a little few and far between at the moment.
You’ve been through in a matter of weeks what some people don’t even go through in a year! I sincerely hope things look up for you now my dear!
Ahhhh Kate what a rollercoaster!! So glad Zoe is recovering okay, and your new white car is a bit fabulous!! (Even if it doesn’t have pink bits LOL).
Big *hugs* to you babe!
I can’t believe all this has happened since we played in the garden How was izzy in all this? Luckily Zoe bounces. I now understand the week’s posting I hope the computer brings some stress release. I don’t know how you don’t go nuts. Is it the same for all mums????
You are a wonderfully good and strong person and mother! And your children are very lucky!
I’m glad, though, that I’m not the only one that sends hubby “I quit” text messages.
What happens with Zoe’s teeth now? Does the growth of the adult ones kick in early? Or will they still grow at their normal expected time? Either way, I still say her smile is absolutely gorgeous!
Hang in there, you’re doing well!
Wow, what a bloody week !
((hugs))
I can’t BELIEVE the adventures you are having … and I wouldn’t be surprised if the tooth fairy stays away for a looooong time now. Hope Zoe is feeling better soon! :)
Hugs hugs hugs Can’t think of anything else to say that I haven’t already..
OMG.. and I thought Tara’s incident was bad… *big hugs* to all of you and extra big for Zoe
My goodness – what an ordeal. Sending hugs.
Wow! So not fun! My 15 year old son impacted his top front teeth, almost to the point on not being able to see them, TWICE in the same year when he was 2. I was thankful he didn’t have to have them pulled. However, it did kill them and they were discolored until they fell out. His permanant teeth are pretty good, they just have a bit of discoloring to them.
I’m sure the twinados are a lot of work, but I have always desired to have twins. Even with 7 kids, I’m still praying for twins, lol. And I can say that because I am not in Australia, so you can’t hop over and pop my in the head to knock some sense into me. It wouldn’t work anyways or my parents and siblings and friends would have done it already, lol.
how are her teeth now ?
