Just a quick post to say thanks to everyone who has left comments, emailed or phoned since I blogged last. It is so amazing to know how many people a) read this blog and b) care enough to take the time to let me know.

I actually feel like a little bit of a fraud… that last post wasn’t supposed to be sad at all. It is not a sad thing that my Nan has died… as macabre as that may sound. I don’t go in for pain and suffering and my Nan had done more than enough of that in the last few years. Her body and brain had simply worn out after a very long and happy life and the best thing for her was to die peacefully and move on to bigger and better things whatever that may be.

So we are definitely celebrating her life tomorrow.. toasting with pink champagne and catching up with family.. all good things and all exactly how she would have wanted it.

I agree with Angela, it was a great post (had me giggling), but yeah, just the ending was quite a surprise. I know this is going to sound weird, but enjoy celebrating your wonderful Nan’s life tomorrow, I’m sure there will be quite a few funny stories told ;)

When my MIL died we were like that Kate, she was such a wonderful person and a joy to have around that we really wanted to celebrate her life. WE still miss her every day but we are thankful that we had her for as long as we did.
