I’m a little scared to sit down and calculate exactly how long we have been renovating our house, but since our smallest child is about to turn two, I know it’s been over 18 months… and no end in sight.
Most days I am ok with how long it has taken, some days it frustrates me to tears, and occasionally I even see light at the end of the tunnel. Friday was one of those days.
On Friday a plumber came to our house.
This is a momentous occasion because we have had some trouble getting a plumber to actually show up. They say they are coming, they tell you a day and a time, but they never arrive.
But Friday, the plumber really came… ok so he came 5 hours later than he said he would, but I chose not to hold that against him, well at least not until after he had hooked up our new bathroom!
Yes, bar a few skirting boards, a towel rail and the electrics, the bathroom is finished.
Well ok it’s not 100%, totally and utterly finished, but it is useable and I need a little something to celebrate here, so go with me….
You can see what our old bathroom is like and the very beginnings of the new in this video.
And here’s a little video tour of the practically finished new bathroom….
So… one bathroom down, just a kitchen, laundry, living room, study, master bedroom and another bathroom still to go!
Have you ever renovated? How did you make it through those days when you thought it will never be done?
