Wasabi!…. Achoo!…. Wasabi!

I’ve been trying to catch a Muski giggle on my Dad’s digital camera (my dslr doesn’t have video and my old digi point and shoot doesn’t record sound) this arvo so I can share the cackling belly laugh with the whole world.. sadly we have been unsuccessful. Like the smiles early on Muski is somewhat bemused by the camera being stuck in his face and as soon as it appears gets all serious and frowny.

We have a had a bit of fun attempting to make him into a film star. At one point there was me, my Mum, both his sisters and his cousin all trying their best to make him laugh. We did get a bit of a giggle out of him but on the video all you can hear is everyone yelling various things to get the giggle out that you miss it all together!

It seems though, if you are almost five months old and your family nick names you ‘Muski’ that the most hysterical thing in the whole world is when someone sneezes. We discovered this a while back when one of the girls sneezed and Muski dissolved into giggles. More sneezes, more giggles… hey this is a fun game!

It also sometimes works if you just say ‘aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh CHOO!’
And we’ve discovered other words given the same inflection can also induce laughter… “Waaaaaaaaaaa SABI!” is another very funny favourite.

There have been times when we have been stuck in traffic and the girls and I have spent a good half an hour pretend sneezing and saying ‘Wasabi” in our most funny voices to keep Muski from crying…. so glad we have aircon in the car so the windows can stay up and no one has to know how crazy we sound!

I will work on catching a giggle again tomorrow because there really is nothing better to make you forget about all the not so fun parts of being a parent and I simply must share this gem with the world!
