A while back I was affected by temporary insanity of the worst possible kind…. I said yes to the girls having a birthday party!
I said yes to our little house being filled with squealing girls. I said yes to way to much sugary food. I said yes to them inviting every girl in their class. I said yes to planning and decorating and baking and mayhem and madness. But the inanity was worth it, we had a fabulous Rainbow Party!
We decorated with streamers and fancy paper bunting (you can find instructions at mini eco, thanks to stitchsista for the link and my Mum for doing the sewing).
We made chocolate cupcakes and decorated them with rainbow sprinkles and rainbow cup cake toppers!
We dressed up in our best rainbow coloured clothes and hung out with some of our best friends.
We collected lots of rainbow coloured, bright, sparkly bits and pieces and decorated rainbow tiaras and rainbow fairy wands. After that we threaded rainbow beads to make necklaces and bracelets.
Then we ate rainbow balls (chocolate truffles covered in 100s and 1000s), rainbow fairy bread, fairy fudge and rainbow jelly cups! Then we sang happy birthday and blew out the rainbow coloured candles!
We sent our guests home with home made rainbow crayons, twirly straws, rainbow braclets, an eraser and a lollypop, all packed in a rainbow striped draw string bag!
A fabulous time was had by all!

What great rainbow ideas you had! Our three year old had a rainbow party last summer and I found it more challenging than I had expected to come up with rainbow-themed decorations, games, and foods. In the end, though, it was fabulous, my favourite party yet. By far the biggest hit was the huge rainbow jelly – it took me 12 hours but it was worth it! Very effective, I recommend it to any of your readers that are considering a rainbow party. (And really, it only takes a few minutes every couple of hours, it was just 12 hours in total to make 6 coloured layers). We also got Froot Loops cereal to make edible rainbow necklaces, which was another fun activity. It looks like your kids had a wonderful time!
oh i just LOVE this theme! the creative possibilities are endless, really.
toy/movie-character themed kids parties drive me nuts :(
