Posted on January 3, 2017 4 Comments

Man I love summer.

I love the summer holidays, I love summer weather (the hotter the better for me!), I love summer fruit, and I love summer frozen treats!

20 Amazing frozen treats to make at home

My kids and I are on a mission to try out as many frozen treats recipes as we can this summer. This is the list we are working through – some of them are tried and true family favourites, some are simple and easy, and some are totally over the top and amazing!

Homemade ice-pops in four fun flavours.

Raspberry lemon greek yogurt popsicles from Marsha’s Baking Addiction.

DIY Slurpees from Clean and Scentisble – such a cool idea!

Chocolate dipped frozen bananas from Sugar Hero

Summer fruit Sorbet from Kidgredients.

Berry swirl frozen yogurt bark from Celebrating Sweets.

Banana ‘not quite’ ice cream from Childhood 101

Fresh fruit popsicles from Pop Sugar

Five minute strawberry frozen yogurt from Just a Taste

Frozen blueberry and youghurt kebabs from Be a Fun Mum.

Lava flow popsicles from One Lovely Life.

Fresh raspberries cookies and cream ice cream from Broma Bakery.

Frozen fruit kabobs from Super Healthy Kids.

Harry Potter, no churn, butter beer ice cream from My Daylights – for my Potter Head!

Unicorn ice cream from Big Bear’s Wife – who could resist?

Galaxy ice cream from Some of This and That

FroYo berry bites from Skinny Ms.

Cake batter popsicles from Just Add Sprinkles.

Copycat Trader Joe’s gone bananas from The View from Great Island.

Rainbow popsicles from The First Year

Which one of these frozen treats do you want to make??

We use fun silicone ice pop molds to make our homemade frozen treats. Aussies, you can buy the ones we have here, and you can also find similar ones on Amazon here (affiliate link).

We also have a set of ice cream molds similar to these ones and an old Sunbeam icecream maker, similar to this one, which are lots of fun (affiliate links).

Well… it’s freezing cold in Tianjin, China… but I had to try out the Chocolate Dipped Frozen Bananas anyway… and what can I say: easy to make and very delicious, the kids (and I) loved them! I only found that it was kind of hard to put the chocolate on, since the texture of the frozen banana and the melted chocolate don’t quite agree with each other. So I added some milk and a little bit of butter to the chocolate, to make it smoother, and that did in fact work better…

So thanks for the recommendation, the kids have already asked for me to make them again, :-).

    So long,
    Corinna

It was so good, in fact, that yesterday when the kids came home from school my son went straight into the kitchen to make new ones himself, :-).

I liked Summer fruit Sorbet a lot. I had no idea it would turn out so delicious. My kids loved it. I\’m definitely going to try other treats as well. Thanks for sharing.
