I’ve been saving this activity for a time when we really needed it.
A time when the kids had to wait, or when I needed a few moments of peace, or when they were driving me totally bonkers and it was either do this fun little activity or see your mother’s head explode!
Yesterday afternoon it was time.
So I printed out a couple of copies of this fun Christmas find and colour sheet, grabbed some markers, and sat the boys down at the table.
Instead of punching each other, instead of whining and complaining, and instead of making my head explode, the boys sat and worked on this little activity sheet.
It’s a simple activity – there is a bunch of little Christmassy pictures, and list of things to find, and all you have to do is find and colour the right number of things from the list eg. ‘7 Christmas trees with no star on the top’.
Young kids may need some help reading the list, but my beginning reader managed most of the words with only a little help.
For very little ones you could ignore the list and simply ask them to find and colour whatever you can see – “colour one santa hat red, colour one present green.” etc.
Sometimes you just need a new activity and a few minutes of peace to break the cycle of craziness!
If you need something to break the crazy cycle and stop your head exploding, you can download the free printable Christmas find and colour sheet here.
This printable is an A4 sized pdf file, you will need a pdf reader such as adobe acrobat to open it. If you are printing on US ‘letter sized’ paper be sure to select ‘fit’ or ‘shrink to fit’ from your printer options.
Please remember that the printables at picklebums.com are for personal use only, you may not sell, share, or link directly to these files.
This is a great activity to have on hand when you have some time to fill in, and it would be perfect to do on Christmas day while the kids are waiting for food to be served!
I hope this fun free printable activity gives you a little moment of peace this Christmas too!
