These fabulous free printable glasses are so much fun to make and decorate with your kids!
Print out one of these four cool, crazy paper glasses templates and have fun decorating them any way you like.
One night last week my smallest child was doing his best to avoid going to bed.
“I’m not going to bed… unless you wear the gwasses!”
“Ok” I said putting on the green lantern glasses, “now it’s bed time!”
Off he went to bed, but every time I even looked liked I was going to take of the glasses his eyes shot open.
“Leave. Them. On!” he demanded. By this stage I would have stood on my head if it helped him get to sleep, so I left the snazzy green glasses on and took a quick instagram selfie to record the moment for posterity.
Here’s another great free printable craft activity to try.
As I read through the funny facebook and instagram comments, my mind filled with ideas for making more fun printable glasses and I started dreaming up a plan to make some crazy printable glasses to go with my stunning green pair.
Since then my study has been littered with scraps of paper and sketches of glasses prototypes, and, after much trial and error, I finally got them right!
Now you can make as many pairs of fabulous free printable glasses as you like, and make these as crazy cool as you want!
How to Make Some Fabulous Free Printable Glasses
Everyone will love making these fun free printable glasses. Little hands may need some help with the cutting out, but everyone can get in on the decoration!
To make your own pair of crazy paper glasses you’ll need:
- The free printable glasses template that you can download below.
- Cardstock to print on, or paper to print the template on and cardboard to stick the paper onto.
- Scissors
- Tape
- Markers, paint, pencils, sticklers, washi tape etc for decorating.
Start by printing the crazy glasses template. You can either print straight onto some strong card, or print them on to regular paper and paste the pages onto some old cereal boxes or similar cardboard for support.
Now you have your crazy glasses ready to decorate!
We used markers, washi tape, and some diamante stickers and other stickers to make our glasses look extra fabulous! You could also use paint or pencil to add colour, and all kinds of collage material to add that extra something. I think they would look amazing with some feathers or sparkles!

OK, you’ve done it again — made me use more of my expensive printer ink, LOL! Seriously, your blog is great and I look forward to seeing it in my e-mail. I believe I already posted a comment that I would be printing out items to put in Christmas shoeboxes (a project of Samaritans Purse) and these will definitely make for a great do-it-yourself, inexpensive fun project for me to include. Thanks so much for the wonderful free printables and the fantastic instructions.
Oh, and your kids are great models!
Loved the template for the glasses! I do a self-portrait lesson with my first graders using glasses cut with our Accu-cut machine. This will be so much better since the students can choose different shapes! Thanks so much!
