This story and free printable poster was originally a subscribers only freebie for my newsletter a while back, but I thought I’d share it with everyone now.

It’s been a crazy week.
Sick kids, ballet exams, over due library books, ant invasions, late nights, lost hats… some days it has felt like nothing was going right.
To top it all off, this afternoon, while doing a quick shopping trip with all four kids in tow, I dropped a whole bag of apples. The apples bumped across the floor of the supermarket and rolled under shelves, while the kids giggled, and I hung my head in shame.
Just as I let out a huge sigh a gentle older lady walked by and smiled.
“You know, it’s never too late to start the day over”
she said as she bent over and picked up an apple.
Her words echoed in my head as we drove home.
It was Friday afternoon. I was tired, the kids were cranky, the day had gone from bad to worse, and now we had a whole bag of bruised apples. Was it really not too late to start over?
I decided she was right, even 4:30 on a cranky Friday afternoon is not too late to start again.
I turned up the radio and we sang like loons the whole way home, we ate apple pancakes for dinner, and I made a poster to remind myself of the kind lady’s wise words.
