Easy dress ups to sew

Ok so I may just be posting these fabulous dress ups links so that my Mum reads this and decides to make some for my kids… but hey… at least I’m honest!

Boy-ish dress-ups are always hard to find but these fleece pirate dress-up from Sew Can Do are cool and my girls would love them too!

How cool are these crowns made from plastic bottles by Paper Plate and Plane.

These silk scarf butterfly wings by This Mama Makes Stuff are beautiful!

Another more ‘boy-ish’ option, but my girls are eyeing off these frontier vests from Made because they are heavily into native American Indians at the moment and with a few alterations think this could make a great Indian vest!.

These dinosaur/dragon tails from Tatertots and Jello (guest post by Jessica from Running With Scissors) are just cool!

We love dressing up at our house, we always have, even when my big boy was only a little boy and he loved hats and bags.

Do your kids like to dress up as much as mine? Got some great dressing-up links to share?

My absolute fav dress-up tutorial at the moment is these bird wings: http://www.prudentbaby.com/2011/04/how-to-make-beautiful-dress-up-wings.html

I’ve just made my 7th pair as its birthday season here at the moment. They’ve been a huge hit.

Dress-ups are an almost daily highlight in this house – especially when there are little people visiting. I made and bought a box of dress-ups for my daughter’s third birthday present and I think it was the best toy investment I ever made. One of the dress-ups was a felt crown, from this pattern: http://www.skiptomylou.org/2009/02/24/felt-birthday-crown/ – though I didn’t put a number on it so I only had to make one instead of one every year!
