My big boy is a fabulous reader, but when it comes to writing, well, let’s just say it is not really his thing. But he’d really like to get better at writing, so we are trying to practice at home and make it fun.
One way to make writing fun is to write letters to all your favourite people, and to make it even more fun Morgan and I sat down at the computer together and made a new printable kids letter writing set.
All week my boy has been spending 15 minutes before bed writing letters.
He’s working on correct letter formation, leaving a space between words and remembering his capitol letters and full stops. What he’d really like is to be able to write really fast, but I’ll settle for him just having a go without being anxious!
Just like our old letter writing sets (you can find set 1 here, and set 2 here) we’ve used the ‘dotted thirds’ lines to help with correct letter formation and made writing paper that has a ‘Dear’ and a ‘love from’ in pre-cursive script to help get you started.
This time we also made a plain dotted thirds sheet and a sheet with space for a picture at the top and dotted thirds underneath. Plus a matching envelope to cut out, fold and stick.
This set comes in three different colours/designs – lemon-lime doodles, blue and white clouds, and red circles.
Do you write letters? Do your kids?
