There are two questions that have been bugging me for quite a while now…
1) When can you legally change speeds while driving? When you can see the sign and make out what speed it says? Or do you have to wait until you have actually passed the sign with the new speed limit on it??
2) Why can’t you get hamsters in Australia?
Edited to add : Here is the wiki entry for Hamster… they are kind of like a cross between a mouse and a guinea pig I reckon…. which is why we want one, well two actually! Zoe is desperate for a pet mouse and Izzy for a guinea pig, but each of those really needs a friend of the same species to be happy but I sooo don’t want four small, smelly creatures (I don’t even really want two!) so a hamster would be the perfect compromise!

Don’t know whether it’s legal or not, but I wait until I am perfectly in line with the sign before slowing down :)

oh Jo.. who do you know in the UK that could smuggle us a Hamster??? And Lisa… guess you were away when Jo’s ex-hamster visited us at the PBP chat! LOL
Jodie says
When you pass the sign, no idea about the hamster… but mainly I am in awe that you, who have 4 yr old twins and a baby, have time to even think about this stuff!!!

I want a Hamster too, don’t know why we can’t get them here – probably considered a pest or something..
I reckon you should get Hermit Crabs – we got them a few months ago, and they are like *the* most low mantainence pet you can get I reckon – you do nothing for months but change the water when it gets low, and every month or so change the wood shavings. The food just hangs around for months while they get through it.
Apparently in “optimal conditions” they can live for 40 years!

check out Chinchilla’s! I hear they don’t smell as bad as hamsters do.
good luck finding the right pet!

Good luck with the hamster hunt – I am not good with rodents – I seconf the hermit crab idea , but they aren’t veru cuddly.
