What Are You Scared Of?

What are you scared of?

All summer long I have been on the look out for snakes. With all the spring rain, and frogs, and mice, I was sure it would be a bad snake season, but I have not seen a single one… until today.

On a cool, foggy morning in Autumn I see a big, fat, brown snake slither across our driveway into the grass.

All snakes around here are of the deadly variety, they are quite common, and I have an irrational fear of them.

I am petrified of snakes. What are you scared of?

    1. Yeah they are a fact of life around here too…
I am ok with spiders, and can deal with rodents, except when they attack me… but between the snakes and the crappy internet I am with on the rethinking the move to the country! LOL

  1. During our last visit to our holiday house we came across three very dangerous snakes (tiger, red belly and another one we couldn’t identify) in three days. It has been the perfect weather for them. Yep, I’m not a fan at all! EEEEEEEK.

    1. They tell me the snakes are more scared of us than we are of them, but I’ve never seen any of the snakes I’ve encountered run away to vomit! LOL

  2. oh gawd i hate snakes…been on the lookout here too and can absolutely guarantee I am more scared of them than me! Really not loving the rat that has taken up residence in my lounge though…I know they are small but I am petrified!

    1. We have two rats in our lounge room… but they are pets, and live in a cage, and are really quite cute… though I am betting you don’t agree Jode!
I’ve spent a lot of time explaining to my kids that some people don’t like rats and that we need to respect that and remove the pets when they come over! LOL

    1. I don’t like earwigs either… I think it is the name, always makes me imagine them crawling into ears!!!

  3. Oh I am so scared of snakes as well. We have seen a heap this season. A tiger snake last week that slithered into the next door neighbours wood pile. So horrible. We were up at the block a few weeks ago as well, had just arrived when the boys yelled out snake! A brown snake was just making his way across the site. It’s funny, the boys have seen quite a few now and don’t usually freak out, while I sit there shaking for half an hour!
