Tuesday night was tooth fairy night so I went to find the little specimen jar that held Zoe’s teeth after the operation. The girls both had a good look at the teeth (ugly little suckers and so big compared to the bits you see when they are where they should be!) and as I tipped them into the special glass jar filled with water Izzy said ….
“there goes the broken teeth… with a bit of ‘Zoe meat ‘on them”
Say what??
But you know she was right… if you looked closely on two of the teeth there was still some um.. ahem.. er.. flesh on them…’zoe meat’
Euuuuuuuuuuw gross… that’s enough to put me off eating meat for at least a week!
Thankfully the tooth fairy has a pretty strong stomach and, un-phased by the ‘zoe meat’, exchanged the three teeth for $2 a piece and a heck of a lot of fairy sparkles (they came out a lot faster than I thought they would!). Unfortunately Zoe has no clue about the value of money and in all her lovely sharingness declared that she would spend the money on new fairy wings for her AND Izzy… lucky for the tooth fairy I had the cash to make up the difference!
Our first follow up appointment with the dentists at RCH went well.. she is healing well, outside swelling almost gone, inside still swollen but ok. Stitches poking out everywhere so hopefully they will dissolve and fall out soon. She is smiling again, really showing off ‘the gap’. She’s figured out how to eat most things, as long as we cut them up small, but she is still talking funny. S’s and R’s are a problem and I still say she sounds like one of the Goons!
All good news. You deserve some How are the fairy wings? Nothing like a little fly around to break the boredom
Great to hear:D LOL about the Zoe meat
:| ‘zoe meat’ lol
Glad all is healing well :)
New fairy wings sound like fun!
Aww, how sweet that she wanted fairy wings for her and Izzy too.
And yeah, ewww at the Zoe meat…
So sorry for my delayed response re: Zoe’s teeth. Huge hugs for you all, what a stressful time! Glad the Tooth Fairy came – 3 at once deserve lots of gold coins! Funny re; Zoe meat – kids are so up front, they don’t hold back do they LOL! It was true though huh, clever girl!
I lost a front tooth when I was about 5mths old (got teeth at 3mths, as did my kids, and Archie is teething now already – argh!). Hit my mouth too hard on the back of a church pew….
So great to hear Zoe is doing so well!
