This Week…
This week I sent my big kids back to school with a minimum of fuss but a lot of exhaustion!
This week I totally forgot about my ‘photo a day’ plans. I didn’t even take a ‘first day of school photo!’, but we did have a first day of school milkshake!
This week my big boy learned to ride his bike without training wheels!
Last week we accidentally forgot to put chlorine in the pool and it went green. This week we are busy testing and skimming and cleaning and chlorinating. Pools are a lot of work, even small, above ground ones – but they are worth it!
This week Noah decided he was not afraid of jumping off the ladder into the pool and putting his face in the water!
This week there were some interesting discussions about this article on my facebook page. What do you think? Do our kids have too much stuff??
This week I’m seeing if I have any unused nappies lying around for the Nappy Collective who collect unused disposable nappies from collection points around Australia and redistribute them to organisations that support families in crisis or in need. The next collection is Feb 17th to March 2nd, check the web site for drop off locations if you can help and like their facebook page to keep up to date.
I’m thinking about making this potato strudel for dinner this week, but with zucchini as well as potato.
This week the rainbow loom has been working overtime as the girls make bracelets for their school friends. This site has a great collection of patterns and tutorials, but man some of them are hard!
What have you been up to this week??

My daughter JUST discovered the rainbow loom this week, and she adores it! I am trying to teach my kids to ride their bikes, but we haven’t had much success yet. We’ll keep working on it!
Riding without training wheels is such a rite of passage!
Sounds like a hectic week. My kids just started back yesterday, and I am still trying to wrap my head around school lunches etc again!
I haven’t read the article you linked to (just opened it in a new tab then!), but I can answer your question anyway – yes I think my kids have too much stuff. Them and every other kid I know, which makes it harder and harder as they get older, and start to really be aware of how much MORE many of their friends have.
Thanks for the nappy collective link, I am going to make use of that, my Ms Three is only in nappies at night now, so we have a lot to pass on!
And finally, congratulations to your champion bike rider. Such a fun achievement!
