We Play All Day.
“So the last day of the holidays hey…. Did you do anything special?”
“Nope” she says as she shrugs her shoulders… “We just played…”
Today …
We chased the ducks out of the veggie garden, twice.
We designed a range of party dresses for 7 year olds and a range for guinea pigs and gold fish, among other animals.
We jumped on the trampoline.
We collected the eggs and stole one to make a real potion.
We giggled at the stray cow pooping under the clothes line and then ran screaming as it turned it’s mean black eyes in our direction.
We dug in the sand pit and flipped sand pancakes.
We found a really fat frog and put it in a bucket while we built a grass, stone and puddle house for it, then let it go to live happily ever after.
We played dress-ups with friends and ate biscuits in the sunshine.
We climbed to the top of the peppercorn tree.
We pretended to do gymnastics and balanced on the new floor structure of the renovations.
We played sword fights with ‘onion sticks’.
We collected clovers and made a bed for a fairy.
We swung upside down on the trapeze swings.
Nope… we didn’t do anything special today… we just played all day.
If you like to play all day, pop on over to Childhood101’s We Play link up for loads of inspiration…. that probably doesn’t involved cows pooping and fat frogs.
Love those days <3
:-) Sounds like a perfectly brilliant day :)
Sounds just perfect! Tried to share a post on FB from my blog about a similar day we had that was full of play. But it didn’t work. I’ll link here. Apologies if it doesn’t work – and I’ll stop trying!

That sounds like an awesome day to me. Arrh for a little bit of land to call home, such adventures.
Can we come over and play? Your house sounds like such a lot of fun =)
Cool holidays! Just playing…it’s so special :-)

What a perfect “nothing” day. I need to give myself (and my kids) permission to have more days like this!
What creative play you have going on at your house!
