“Mum! I’m hungry!”
“Mum! What can I eat?”
“Mum! I’m starving!!!”
“Mum what’s for breakfast/lunch/dinner/snack?”
Am I the only one with kids that are constantly asking about food???
I know they are all growing like weeds and that makes them hungry all the time, but after all four kids have asked me what’s for dinner, and then two of them have asked me again three minutes later because they forgot what I said the first time… well… it drives me bonkers!
So I made this –
I printed out this ‘What can we eat?’ sign, laminated it and stuck it on the fridge, and every morning I get up and fill in each little box.
On school days the lunch section has a list items they can choose to pack in their lunch boxes (all of our kids pack their own lunch boxes the night before), and the snack section has after school snack options.
On weekends and holidays I add a list of snack options that are available and, since my my kids are capable of getting their own snacks, they can just pick something from the list and go get it, it doesn’t involve me at all!
Now when someone asks me “What can I eat?” I just point to the sign.
If you’ve got bottomless pit kids like mine and could use a break from all the food questions then you can download this free printable display menu here.
