A Good Drying Day

March 12, 2011

drying washing on washing line

The sun is shining, there is a gentle breeze and the baby is asleep in the pram as I hang out the washing. Sometimes all you need are simple things like a good drying day and a sleeping baby to make you realise how lucky you really are.

I’m adding my thoughts to the wonderful list of grateful posts at Maxabella Loves today.

The smell of sheets dried in the sun and wind – pure bliss.

It truly is a beautiful day, and I too have a washing line full of clothes… and I’m so grateful for it!

Have a wonderful weekend xxx

As one who is procrastinating about putting my washing on the line, this delightful post has kicked me into action! Thank you.

Good drying days, definitely grateful for those with a couple of bedwetters in the house. Ahh those moments when the baby sleeps … I kinda wished that still happened when they are 13, 9 & 7!

Kate, Autumn is the best drying weather of all. When the weather is just right, washing is a pleasure. I get it. x

I completely agree! While I don’t have a baby that sleeps in his pram, he loves to watch me put out the washing and the little gurgles that accompany that relatively mundane task make it so much more enjoyable.

See, I am grateful that I am lazy and chose to delay hanging the washing today.

On Friday, I took advantage of the rare moment of sunshine and womanned up and hung the wash. It bucketed down.

Today, there was indeed a rare moment of sunshine, but I chose instead to point out all the grasshoppers to the baby. We were grateful for the moment of sunshine – and doubly grateful for avoiding the futility of rinsing the washing again…
