The Best of Picklebums 2014

Posted on December 29, 2014 4 Comments

This year has flown past, and now it is almost over. Can you believe it?

This year has seen it’s fair share of ups and downs, but as I look back I am struck by how lucky I am. For all the difficult moments there have been plenty more wonderful ones, and looking back it is easy to see how much my family and I have grown and flourished, how much we have learned, because of the difficult moments as well as the wonderful ones.

Picklebums in 2014

I am struggling to comprehend that I am now parenting two eleven year old girls, not to mention seven year old and four year old boys! When did my babies get so big? It has been a joy to watch them grow up this year – to see dancing become even more of a joy for my three big kids, to watch my smallest head off to kinder (preschool) with such joy and confidence, and to see them all conquer fears and difficulties.

We still live in never ending renovations, and I dream of having a bath again, but I fall in love with our home and the beautiful place we live every time I drive down our long drive way. I feel like we have conquered a little more of our garden this year, adding more berries and slowly finding ways to work with our rock hard clay soil.

My little blog has grown too. This year saw a few changes behind the scenes, and some nice steady growth both on the blog and on social media (We made it to 50 000 facebook fans just before Christmas!) which means more people are reading, and interacting, and downloading printables, and making me smile.

I hope you’ve enjoyed 2014 on Picklebums and all the crazy, fun, useful (I hope) things we’ve shared.
