Better Late than Never – Free Printable 2016 Calendar

Sometimes my life doesn’t go to plan.

And sometimes I throw the plans right out the window.

2015 was heavy

I didn’t realise until I stopped for a moment… but as soon as I found some peace and quiet, it hit me like a tonne of bricks.

2015 was long, and hard, and heavy.

I felt the weight of it on my shoulders, bending my neck, making my head droop, and I suddenly realised I had been carrying this weight for a long time, and I was tired.

So for the past two weeks I have purposefully given up on remembering what day it was. I have purposely made time to do nothing and anything. I have purposely not made plans.

But now it is time to slowly dip my toe into the new year, to make a few tentative plans, and to ask what day it is.

So I know it’s late and you probably already have your calendars filled let alone printed… but I don’t so I made myself a new calendar.

It’s still going to take me a few weeks (probably until school goes back for us at the end of January) to really know what day it is, and to jump back into our plans with gusto… but until then I am content with being ‘better late than never’.

You can find our more about my ‘brain dump’ journal system here, and find loads and loads more free printables to help get you organised here.

Have you started the new year running or are you taking a more relaxed pace like me?

  1. Thanks Kate! Just what I needed. Glad you’ve had a break over Christmas. Here’s to a super, chilled, 2016!

  2. LOVE LOVE LOVE your printables!
Thank you for sharing and for the brain dump journal idea…
    Thank you x a million

  3. Your printables are worth the wait Kate. I’ve just printed off my calendar and look forward to using this year. Thank you!!

  4. Nice calendars! Unfortunately I haven’t been able to slowly get back into things after a quiet break. It was back to high speed! I did manage to sign up for a prenatal yoga class and am trying to make healthy choices during this pregnancy and not focus on the number on the scale. Here’s to a healthier new year!

  5. I absolutely LOVE the brain dump journal. I’ve been using it for two months now and I feel much less scattered. Thank you! I would love these calendars for my journal, but I am used to my calendars starting on Sunday. Are you also planning to make it available for weeks starting on Sunday? Thanks again for your wonderful resources!

  6. Thank you so much for this post. It has relieved me of the guilt associated with the beautiful, yet time-consuming bullet journal and all the attending paraphernalia.

  7. Hi, I absolutely love your calendar. One little thing your dates are off by a day for the 2016 year. Anyway you could fix it and upload a new one? I am not computer savvy to be able to make one look good like yours. Thanks for all the information!

    1. Can you tell me which dates are wrong?
I’ve checked it and checked it and can’t see any errors… but I’ve looked at it so long I’m cross-eyed so I’m sure I’ve screwed up something!

      1. I think it might be confusion as to how the calendar is layed out…If you’re used to calendars that start the week on Sunday, then it might be confusing to look at this layout with the week starting on Monday. Just a guess… I also double checked the dates and they seem correct to me!

Thank you, Kate, for putting this together and sharing it with all of us! I love having these calendars in my brain dump journal! Your work is much appreciated :)

  8. I want to say thank you for the printables AGAIN – I solidly used them last year and kept going back to them time and time again. Please know that your generosity is appreciated.

  9. Do you have weekly or daily printables? I am excited to use this new idea of putting the calendar in a notebook! I struggle with not having enough space to write on a calendar… :-)

  10. Just printed the latter half of 2016, I use an academic planner right now. No pressure, but would love a 2017 half-size version. :D Thank you for making this available!

    1. I have plans to make one… but life has gotten the better of me over the last few weeks, so I plan to take a break between Christmas and new year, so it probably won’t be until after the new year rolls over that I get around to it! Sorry!
