My preschoolers love it when we use these Easter alphabet eggs in a sensory tub, or even better when I hide the letters in plastic eggs!
However you use them, this printable Easter alphabet and matching mat activity helps young children practise letter recognition and fine motor skills, all while learning to match uppercase and lowercase letters in a playful, hands-on way.

How to Set up the Easter Egg Letter Match Activity
There are lots of fun ways to use the alphabet Easter eggs for easy, hands-on, literacy activities. Here are a few of our favourite ideas for using the Easter alphabet letters:
Easter Alphabet Sensory Bin.
We used green shredded paper for our sensory bin filler. I tucked the letter eggs into the paper ‘grass’ and added some large tweezers so the children could use their fine motor skills to grab the eggs from the bin and carefully place them over the correct letter on the matching mat.
Easter Egg Letter Hunt.
Add some tape to each letter egg and hide them around your home or classroom. Give each child a clipboard with the matching mat and they can colour in each lower case letter on the mat when they find the matching upper case letter egg!
Plastic Egg Letter Hunt.
Pop each printed letter egg inside a plastic egg and add them to a sensory bin, or hide them for extra fun!

Tips and Extension Ideas:
- Younger children could sort and match the eggs by colour instead of letters.
- Have children find the letter eggs that make up their name and glue them to a sheet of paper.
- Write a list of cvc words or sight words and have kids hunt for the letters in each word (you may need to print extra egg letters for this!)
