Yes you read right… the man, my man is backing! Do notice that he has been elevated from ‘third child’ status to ‘man’ because of his exploits… but it is also worth noting he is baking with a machine rather than actually doing any real cooking.. though I am not complaining!
As my loyal blog readers will know, we’ve been looking at buying a breadmaker. Luckily for us the people my MIL rented her house of left one in the cupboard and she generously lent it to us. We don’t have instructions so have just been winging it. The first loaf… a rock hard lump, I suspect the yeast was old and dead. But since then each loaf has been an improvement on the previous one and all have been at least some what edible.
I had a crash course in how to use it this morning.. though I have to admit I liked ‘not knowing’ so I didn’t have to be the maker of bread LOL. But it seems ‘the man’ has taken a liking to bread making and will keep it as his permanent job and I have plans for a trip to the library to look for a book and see if I can use it to make some other yummy stuff like hot cross buns and pizza dough!
Ah domestic life… there are occasional moments of bliss, even in this house!
Ooh!! LOVE my bread machine, too!!! And I have a good recipe for pizza dough using the good’ol bread machine!! I kinda scored mine also from someone who “left it behind” LOL BIL said anything left in the trunk of the car is garbage and up for grabs.. well, whatdyaknow! A perfectly good bread machine was there! No instruction manual, but I’ve found lots of useful info right online and have found me some awesome recipes.
Oh good move on the bread machine, we have one and there is nothing better than the smell and taste of freshly baked bread at home.
Try adding a little herb and dried chilli mix, it is mouth wateringly beautiful served with a roast!
Enjoy ;)
We got a bread maker my cousin left behind after he cleared out his stored stuff here. Haven’t actually used it in a while but for some time we had fresh baked bread every Sunday. Might have to get back into that habit and get adventurous!
